Movie Review: Titanic 3D

I’d like to preface this post by saying Titanic 3D was THE best advanced screening I’ve ever been to. Yes, I’ve seen the movie countless times, but Paramount really did an excellent job. We traded in our disposable paper passes to the movie for a “boarding pass” ticket as our initial souvenir. Upon showing that, everyone attending the screening received a Titanic 3D goodie bag which included: a Titanic poster and t-shirt, along with a free small popcorn and small soda from AMC Theaters. So, a HUGE thank you to both companies/brands for that. Now on to the movie..

As I stated previously, I’ve seen the movie too many times to count. But seeing the classic film in 3D was an entirely different experience, especially with the most memorable scenes– When Jack and Rose stand at the front of the ship like they’re flying and at the end when they’re floating in the water. I’m usually not a promoter of 3D, but as the saying goes, “there’s an exception to everything”– and Titanic 3D is that exception. This is one of those movies (and situations in history) where you really want to put yourself in the situation, to imagine what it must’ve been like. And watching this film in 3D absolutely brought that experience.

If you’re debating whether or not to see this in theaters vs. watching it at home in your living room, I urge you to spend a few extra bucks for the 3D experience! The film reopens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday, April 4th. Experience the love, the beauty and the heartbreak all over again!
