With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start brainstorming gift ideas for that special guy in your life. While a standard is pretty much set for guys to get us girls (flowers and chocolate), there’s no set standard for what we should get them. And despite the fact that men tell us they’re easy to buy for and we’re the hard ones?! Yeah right. So to help put your ease at mind, I’ve compiled a list of some cute gift ideas below.
Beer Making Kit: Every Day IPA
You can’t go wrong with beer. Get your guy this nifty homemade beer making kit from the Brooklyn BrewShop. Not only will he enjoy drinking the beer, but will also get an inside look at how beer’s made – especially cool if you’re far away from an actual brewery to tour. ($40)
This nerdy puzzle calendar from Paper Source is sure to be a hit with you guy. Taking him back to his Lego building days, he’ll get to relieve stress at work or avoid chores at home each month as he builds a new month calendar. In addition to the days of the week and numbers for the days of the month, this calendar also comes with symbols and text on some legos, reminding your guy of important events to remember. ($12.50)
Guys cannot get enough of t-shirts. Especially funny ones. Seriously though. If you’re having trouble finding one physically in stores, turn to online sites such as Busted Tees (one of my favorites) such as The Muppets one below, to find a shirt that goes along with his favorite show, video game, etc. ($20)
Voucher for a Date
If you’re usually not big planners when it comes to dates, this might be a good option to consider. Keep an eye out on the major deal sites, as there are always weekend escapes or fun outings around down you can purchase – and for a discounted price. If you find something you think he’d love, purchase it and hand craft a voucher showing him the details of your planned outing.
This is probably my favorite gift idea – a gift basket with random things. You’re probably thinking what random things? Well that’s entirely up to you! But it’s not as hard to brainstorm on this one. You can put this gift together pretty cheaply too – depending on the contents you choose to include. For example: festive Valentine’s Day boxers, candy (hit the dollar store for this one and stock up on his favorites), a picture frame with a photo of the two of you, homemade baked goods, etc.
