It’s the beginning of the month, which means it’s time for me to share my top 3 app picks for the month!
I love Apple. But it’s no secret that their weather app isn’t the best. Swackett, an alternative to the default one on our iPhones is pretty sweet and gives you several options for viewing the weather – what to wear included. Rather than just the simple temperature and an image of rain, sun, snow, etc., this free app (based on your preferences when signing up) can send you weather warning/watch alerts, show you a detailed forecast, suggest activities to do during the day (based on the weather) and show options for what type of clothes to wear (something all of us girls struggle with on a daily basis). Who knew checking the weather could be this fun!?
I recently stumbled across this app and have found it to be extremely helpful and inspiring. Named appropriately, the Unstuck app helps you out when you’re stuck in a tough place/crossroads in your life – whether it be with personal or professional issues. You can get as detailed as you want in the app with the problem you’re facing, but ultimately it asks what type of emotions you’re feeling and then offers solutions to help you make decisions and move forward and become unstuck. Pretty cool concept for an app – it’s kind of like having a shrink with you at all times.
I heard about a board game from one of my co-workers a few months ago where you’re shown a brand/company’s logo and have to guess what it is. A true test to how well companies get their name/logo out there. Although this isn’t the board game (I’m still dying to play it), it’s almost one better – a portable version of the logo game. I’ve found myself quite addicted to playing this recently and surprisingly stumped on a few logos. Any fellow PR/Marketing people out there will definitely appreciate this app.
