Cause of the Month: Children’s Defense Fund

The Children’s Defense Fund is a non-profit organization that promotes child advocacy and rights to a healthy and happy life. The Defense team has been working for over 40 years on their “Leave No Child Behind” campaign to ensure every child has a chance to live a life out of poverty, away from abuse and neglect and with proper health care access.

Founded in 1973, The Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) has been supported by foundation and corporate grants and individual donations. But, they need our help more than ever. CDF’s website has an incredible amount of information and knowledge on the different issues young children are dealing with today, including gun control and lack of education. CDF has become an effective voice in child defense, partnering with many different companies, organizations and corporations to spread the word.

All children are created equally, so let’s give them all the same chance at life.

Statistics:

Each day in America:

· 1,208 babies are born without health insurance.
· 1,825 children are confirmed as abused or neglected.
· 2,712 babies are born into poverty.

There are many things you can do to help, including conducting a food drive.

There are multiple things you can do to help this great cause. Their number one response for help is asking everyone to call, email, and write your elected officials and demand action. You can be sure we here at STCL will be doing exactly that. No child should ever be born into a life they don’t deserve!
