I was nervous to receive May’s PopSugar Must Have Box after their disastrous April box (it was so bad I couldn’t even bring myself to review it). However, I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the items included in this month’s box.
The Modern Margarita
I wasn’t fully ready for summer until I found this Modern Margarita kit ($8) in May’s box. Although I’m not a margarita person (1 tequila.. 2 tequila.. 3 tequila.. floor!), the pictures of the different flavors (mixers included) make me instantly ready for a summer getaway to a tropical place.
Giselle Mid Brim Hat
I’m not typically a hat person but with summer coming up, I might be finding myself poolside more often with my new Giselle Mid Brim Hat ($28), an essential for summertime. I also dig the fact that the hat came in gray – a color that will pretty much go with any outfit.
Beautyblender Travel Kit
I was first introduced to this brand a little over a year ago when I received their product in my Birchbox. The Beautyblender Travel Kit ($24) helps to better blend your makeup in, whether it be foundation, concealer or eye shadow. I’m especially a fan of the hot pink (favorite color) sponge included. Not to mention, full samples of products are the best!
Mindy Kaling Conversation Cards
I am OBSESSED with Mindy Kaling. I’m currently reading her book, Is Everyone Hanging Out With Me? (And Other Concerns), so I was very excited to find her Questions I Ask When I Want to Talk About Myself ($14) box of cards in my box. Oh, the irony. From my quick glimpse into the deck of cards, I gathered that most of the cards pull excerpts from her book. Which I don’t hate. This girl is hysterical.
Pacifica Natural Color Quench Lip Tint
PopSugar chose two shades of Pacifica Natural Color Quench Lip Tint ($7) to feature in May’s Box. I received the Guava Berry flavor – a soft shade of pink with an amazing smell. A girl can never have too many lip glosses/balms/sticks and I gladly welcome this all-natural brand into my collection!
Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips
I’m not familiar with the Way Better brand but I was excited to give their Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips ($3) a try. Needless to say, this is probably the healthiest bag of chips I’ve ever eaten, but I thought they were pretty good (especially for being gluten-free).
PopSugar Reusable Bag
This PopSugar Reusable Bag ($1) was the second PopSugar-branded item I’ve received since signing up for the boxes in March. The bag is a little flimsy but I think it’ll make for a great lunch bag for work or to store accessories in.
The final bonus item in my box was a $30 gift card to use at Charm & Chain, an online retailer for designer jewelry. These are always nice to find in subscription boxes because most of the time I’m unfamiliar with the store/site and find some cool products. However, it’s very easy to forget about them, especially if you don’t find something that immediately fits the gift card budget you’re working with.
The Popsugar Must Have Box costs $35/month (if you’re paying month by month) and comes out to a few bucks less a month if you order your subscription in bulk (i.e. 3, 6, 12 months). May’s Box retailed out to $115 – an INCREDIBLE value comparing what you pay vs. what you actually get.
Do you subscribe to Popsugar’s box? What did you think of the contents of this month’s box? Would love to hear!
