2013 CMT Awards Recap

Last night was a big night for Nashville. The Country Music Television (CMT) Awards were filmed and aired in the heart of music city. We were fortunate enough to be there first hand to attend the award show that was hosted by Kristen Bell and Jason Aldean. And may I say, what a cool experience to be in that arena, surrounded by that energy.

As to be expected, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert swept up the awards. Newcomers Florida Georgia Line also made a name for themselves, scoring some great recognition. The performances were strong and powerful like Underwood’s tribute to the Oklahoma tornado victims, and country even brought some different genres of music to their town. Co-host Jason Aldean opened the show with rockstar Lenny Kravitz and Florida Georgia Line closed the show with rapper Nelly, duetting with their monster hit “Cruise”.
