July’s PopSugar Must Have Box was centered around “the dog days of summer,” which was very clear after looking at the contents of the box.
Although last month was supposed to be my final month of the PopSugar subscription box (after I purchased a 3-month sub), I saw a new charge appear on my credit card. Turns out, even after your initial subscription ends, the box will auto-renew (keep that in mind). Unfortunately, customer service wasn’t much help and told me I’d still be receiving this month’s box and that I’d still need to manually cancel myself (the cancellation button isn’t that easy to find), so I received the July box.
Tovolo King Cube Ice Tray
Big ice cubes are the latrest trend in cocktail drinking due to the fact that they melt much slower than regular ice cubes. The Tovolo King Cube Ice Tray ($8.50) comes in many different colors, but the one in this month’s box is by far my favorite. That said, I’m not really sure if I’d get much use out of these. When making cocktails at home I typically put them in my Tervis cup, which doesn’t melt normal ice too quickly.
NCLA (As If!) Nail Polish
The As If! shade of NCLA nail polish ($16) isn’t a color I typically go for (I’m more of a red/coral/pink girl), but I really do love this lavender creme polish. I am kind of surprised that this color was chosen for a summer box though, it seems more of a spring pick.
Mighty Leaf Iced Tea
The Ginger Peach Iced Tea by Mighty Leaf ($6.25) was definitely my favorite item in this month’s PopSugar box. I don’t normally drink iced tea (there’s usually too much sugar in there for me), but since I made my first of four pitchers of this, I can’t stop drinking it. It’s delicious.
This SuperGoop! SPF 30 sunscreen ($42) is the ultimate summer must-have. I turn from super white to lobster within minutes so this product is especially good for me. Additionally, this sunscreen also supposedly helps with anti-aging (which is always a plus).
Rose Gold Baublebar Necklace
The Rose Double Curb Chain ($28) is currently sold out on Baublebar’s website but was included in the box. When browsing their website I saw a few pieces I liked (dangerous because a 20% off coupon was also included), but I’m not a big fan of this one. For me, it’s too big and as mentioned in previous posts, I’m not a fan of gold jewelry on myself.
The July box retailed out to $106.25 – amazing considering you pay $35 for the box. Despite the great value of the box, I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to purchase any of the items in the box (except maybe the iced tea and cookies).
I personally won’t be continuing my subscription with PopSugar at this time, but if this box is something you’d be interested in purchasing, head over to the PopSugar site using this link and receive $5 off your subscription.
