Essential Apps: July 2013

Despicable Me Minion Rush:
Who doesn’t love the Despicable Me minions?! Seriously. The new game inspired by the Despicable Me 2 movie is my new favorite way to pass time. I also love it because it reminds me of the fairly new Despicable Me ride at Universal where you go through “minion training.” Even better, this game is free!

I was SO excited to stumble across the DIY Craftgawker app (there’s also an actual website for the site). Very similar to Pinterest, this site shows you cool artsy/crafty projects and how to make them, rather than just showing you the finishing product and you liking it. I’ve been bookmarking things like crazy since discovering this app and am hopeful to start actually getting my crafting on sometime soon!

Disney Creativity Studio:
I’ve always been amazed by the animation/cartoon work that comes out of movie/TV studios, as well as  some of the cool artwork that people are able to produce. Although I can usually envision an idea, actually implementing it in terms of pen, paper, and easel isn’t always as easy. I really like the Disney Creativity Studio app (99c) which helps teach you how to draw some of the famous Disney characters all on your own.
