Barkbox Review: August 2013

Since Rachel has been raving about her Bark Box subscription for months, I finally decided to try it out for my dog, Lucas (or Lukey, as we like to call him). Lukey was a very happy pup as I continually pulled out new toys and treats for him. And, there a was also a nice surprise for my cat, Prinze, too! Keep reading for an inside peek at Lukey’s first mail delivery!

Aussie Natural Dolphin Floatie

Lukey loves his dolphin floatie… Even outside the water!

This dog toy is for all the water-lovin’ pooches out there! This toy is made from Neoprene and is stuffing free. Inside is a tennis ball, rope and that wonderful squeaker that we all love. This toy is made to float in the water and is perfect for tossing and retrieving for your pup who loves taking laps and playing in the pool. This toy retails at $11.99 on the companies official website.

Plato Natural Duck Strips

Duck is not something we normally think to feed to our lovable pups, but it is surprisingly really healthy for dogs… Especially those with chicken allergies. The recipe in these sweet treats are American duck and brown rice. These natural indulgents are something you will feel good about feeding to your dogs, and they’ll love you for it. These were Lukey’s favorite treats inside the box!

The Honest Kitchen Ice Pups

This is a DIY treat for your pup! Ice pups is a salt-free, grain-free treat mix that you can make two different ways. In the hot months, you can serves in ice for your pup to cool down, and in the winter months, you can serve as warm broth for your pup to warm up. Lukey does not like ice cubes (he sniffs and walks away for them to melt), but I can’t wait to try this when it gets cold outside! You can purchase this online for $.99 for one pack and $13.99 for a whole pack.

Primal Pet Liver Munchies

My jealous cat got his meow fix in this special treat. This treat is for dogs and cats and made from 100% turkey liver. There are no anitbiotics or added hormones, and they are also grain, salt and sugar-free. My cat loved these treats. Lukey did as well, but not as much as the duck. Side note: They do have a strong odor, so beware.

Barkworthies Bully Flakes

This is for everyone who has a picky pup. This food topper is made with ground bully sticks, which will help your dog finish their dinner. All you have to do is sprinkle over wet or dry food and let your dog enjoy their food!

Subscriptions to the BarkBox start at $19/month and I will definitely be continuing my subscription for Lukey. He loved his first package full of sweet treats!
