I’m all about tech-related things, so when I stumbled across the Phone Case of the Month monthly subscription service, I was really excited to give it a try. For $10 a month (+$5 shipping if outside the U.S.), you’ll receive a mystery phone case and a small secondary surprise. And what’s really cool about these cases, is that there are only 200 of each design printed ever. Meaning the chance of you running into someone with the same case as you is pretty slim.
Although I typically stick with the same phone case for quite a while, I really like the idea of a new case every month – or every few months. Not only are the cases through this subscription service much cheaper than typical ones you’d buy, but they’re also really good quality. The only downside to it is not knowing which one you’ll get (I was really hoping for the mustache one!), but this is a risk you take with any subscription service.
The Phone Case of the Month team sent me 2 cases (one for the iPhone 5 and the other for the iPhone 4/4S) and I was pleasantly surprised at the contents inside each phone case pouch. The case for the iPhone 5 was music-themed and included a Bob Marley quote and a kazoo (haven’t seen one of those in years)! The iPhone 4/4S case was love themed and included fun kiddie erasers and a quote about falling in love.
Currently, cases produced by Phone Case of the Month are only good for iPhones (4/4S/5). According to their website, there are future plans to support other phones but there’s still quite some time before that actually happens.
This is definitely one of my favorite subscription services I’ve received. I really like the effort that Phone Case of the Month clearly puts into each “bundle,” giving each case a theme and sending something a little extra to go along with it. It’s essentially bringing back a piece of childhood case by case.
