The next installment of Marvel’s Thor hit theaters yesterday, and let me tell you, it’s SO worth waiting in the long opening weekend lines. Starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, this film is full of twists and turns and plenty of well-done surprises!
In this film, as Thor and his Asgardian pals travel the Nine Realms to make peace, the Dark Elves, who had been dormant for quite some time, are awakened when their powerful force, The Aether, somehow infects Jane (Natalie Portman) on Earth. This is problematic, as she becomes the main target of the Dark Elves and more specifically their leader, Malekith, as they work to re-attain the object of infinite destruction and power. So naturally, the love story between Thor and Jane continues.
In the meantime, LOKI IS BACK (and I’m so excited about it, that I needed to make sure my enthusiasm was captured with all caps). I won’t give anything away, but I do want to point out that his scenes were my favorite throughout the movie. So much brilliance. And as usual, the man himself, Stan Lee, makes an appearance in the film, which is always awesome to see. His small role in this movie is pretty comical too.
Thor: The Dark World was even better than the first movie by miles and I highly recommend seeing it – and not just waiting until it hits Redbox. It might even be safe to say that this is my favorite Marvel movie thus far! A tip if you do head to the theater to see the movie – stay through the credits! You’ll see a sneak peek about halfway through, and a second surprise when they’re completely finished.
Have you seen Thor: The Dark World yet? What did you think?
