Limited Edition BirchBox Home: Snow Day Box Review

I’ve been eyeing the BirchBox Home boxes for quite some time now and finally decided to bite the bullet and order the Snow Day Box a couple weeks ago. Although all of the items were listed out ahead of time (something you don’t typically find out until you receive the box), I really liked the products I saw.

This special edition BirchBox came with lots of confetti/shredded paper. Normally this isn’t something I’m a huge fan of, but since it had the “snow” effect, I loved it. Living in Florida, a snow day isn’t something I’d expect to have, (I think the last time it snowed in my town was before I was born!) I did experience snow days in college and the items included would absolutely be perfect for a snow day. Or in my case, maybe a hurricane day!

Happy Socks
You can never have enough pairs of socks. And in my opinion, the crazier/more fun the design is, the better. These pink zebra socks ($12) from Happy Socks are pretty comfortable, and of course, fashionable. I love this design but I tabbed through some of their other options on their website and found so many others I want to add to my colorful sock collection as well.

I haven’t heard of the Chantecaille brand before, but am looking forward to trying out the Flower Infused Cleansing Milk ($5) and Jasmine & Lily Healing Mask ($8). I wish the samples were a little bigger but considering the value of the box and all of the other items included, it makes sense.

Malin + Goetz Votive
I’m a firm believer that you can never have enough candles. Seriously love them. I was pretty excited to find a Malin + Goetz Votive ($14) in this box – I’ve heard great things about this company! I was hoping for the Dark Rum scent, but contrary to what you might think, the Cannabis scent I got instead actually smells pretty nice – sort of like a men’s cologne.

Mox Botanicals Body Soak
Filled with green tea and its antioxidants, the Clementine Body Soak ($5) is supposed to be great for baths. Kind of a nice reminder to kick back and relax in some bubbles.. and clementines! It also smells really good so I think some relaxation time is in order soon.

Hot Cocoa Powder & Cinnamon Marshmellow
What more perfect to include in a Snow Day box than hot cocoa and marshmallows?! I haven’t tried these out just yet as I’ve been hoping for a cooler day. Luckily for me, it looks like we’re getting a cold front later this week, hooray! I’m so excited to try out the Askinosie Chocolate Cocoa Powder ($3) and Three Tarts Cinnamon Marshmallows ($2.50). Yum!

Jonathan Adler Fireplace Matches
I LOVE Jonathan Adler designs, so these fireplace matches ($10) were one of the big sellers of this box for me. I don’t have a fireplace (pretty pointless for Florida) and am not typically a fan of matches. But this cute design and the fact that these matches are a lot longer (less chance of burning yourself) make these perfect!

S.W. Basics Lip Balm
Lip balm is an extremely popular item to include in subscription boxes and like candles, I love trying new ones! Made of 5 ingredients (one of them being cocoa butter), the Cinnamon-flavored S.W. Basics Lip Balm ($4) is my new favorite! There are 3 other flavors offered – Citrus, Cocoa and Peppermint. I definitely want to try all of them out!

Nowadays we play games more on our devices than we do traditional old-fashioned board games. But this Mini-Scrabble game ($36) exclusive to BirchBox is not only great for a winter (or hurricane) day, but also great to bring along on trips! Also, this game alone is almost equivalent to the price of the Snow Day box!

L’Occitane Hand Cream
I don’t know about you, but in the winter my skin needs some extra TLC on a cold day. One of my favorite products is the L’Occitane Hand Cream ($12) so I was very happy to find a travel size tube of it included. This will absolutely come in handy in a couple months when I venture to the mountains!

I paid $39 (plus shipping) for this Limited Edition BirchBox Home: Snow Day Box and the contents retailed out to about $111.50. AMAZING. As previously mentioned, although I knew the contents ahead of time, I was still so excited to open the box up and have the items. This is definitely one of my favorite boxes of all time. I can’t wait to see what comes next from BirchBox Home!

You can still order this box (while supplies last) so be sure to order yours soon! Use the code “MOBILE20” for 20% off your order.
