Loot Crate: November 2013 Review

I’ve been on a kick of all things nerd more so than usual lately, so naturally, I opted to try a new “geeky” subscription box, Loot Crate. The company tried out a new shipping service this month and unfortunately, my box was delayed a bit more than their website promises.

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription that sends you 6-8 “epic products” for $19.37 ($13.37 + $6 shipping) per month – or $18.37 for a 3 month subscription/$17.67 for 6 months. Additionally, each month is themed. November’s theme was Celebrate and last month’s (which I’m kicking myself for not ordering was Survive – centered around the return of TWD). Check out all the items in November’s box below!

South Park Stan Speakers
I’m not a huge fan of South Park, but I know the perfect person to gift these Stan South Park Speakers  ($25) to. I received Stan but upon researching it, learned that they have speakers for all of the main characters. Keep this in mind for a gift if you have a South Park fan in your life!
BFAST
I was kinda bummed that this BFAST ($3) drink/meal was included in the box instead of a nerd item. I’ll definitely be passing this item on, as I’m not a fan of drinking meals and this isn’t something I’d drink anyway (have to stay away from sugary drinks).
Batman Mighty Wallet
I was SO excited to find the Batman Mighty Wallet ($15) in my box. After all, Batman is my favorite superhero! Tear and water resistant, this eco-friendly wallet can supposedly withstand anything (hence the name mighty).
First Person Shooter Shot Glass
This is my absolute favorite item in November’s Loot Crate! The First Person Shooter Shot Glass ($2) is perfect for any gamer (hello Nazi Zombies). This is definitely one item that will be getting a lot of use!
Dragon Back Playing Cards
You can never have too many playing cards. This deck of Bicycle Dragon Back Playing Cards ($4). I like these Dragon ones not only because the design’s a lot more exciting than the plain deck of cards, but also because they remind me of Game of Thrones. I never realized how many different playing card options there were!
Dr. Who Sticker & Balloon
I’ve yet to watch Dr. Who but it’s been in my Netflix queue for quite some time. I’m thinking once all of my fall shows go on hiatus, I’ll start watching it. From what I know/understand of the show, this sticker and balloon ($3) would be pretty exciting products to have. I’ll have to keep these on the side until then.
I paid $16.37 for this box (I had a $3 off coupon) and it retailed out to $ . This wasn’t a complete hit for me but there are at least 2 items I’ll get use of, the rest will be gifts. I’m already signed up for December’s box and have high hopes for geeky Christmas items and some Ninja Turtle items!
Did you receive Loot Crate? What did you think of November’s box?
