I’ve been in the market for a new blender for quite some time and since spotting the Ninja line last Christmas, I’ve been hooked. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was the company offered to send me the Ninja Ultima, the newest blender in their collection!
I must say, the packaging alone was a bit intimidating (in a good way), arriving in a huge box and looking very sleek and fancy. I was a little concerned that I’d need to put a number of pieces together and that it could be Ikea-level complicated but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The pieces were easy to tell apart and there were only a few. I did an initial piece together to make sure I had it all figured out and then washed each piece (except the base – wipe that down instead, do NOT plunge in water). I will also advise to be extremely careful when washing, they aren’t kidding when they say total crushing – those blades are sharp!
Along with the basic parts of the blender, the Ninja Ultima also comes with two single-serve cups, which you can use for drinks on-the-go or if you’re only making one drink and don’t want to have leftovers in the big blender. I love having the option and although I have cups for days, I really like these specially made cups for blended drinks. The blender base also has suction cups, great for keeping your Ultima balanced and in place, and making it difficult to knock it over. Additionally, Ninja provides you with a recipe book to get you started with your new blender (love it)!
With it being Christmastime, the first drink I had to make was obviously a festive one – the Christmas Blossom, perfect for any holiday parties you might be attending or hosting in the next couple weeks!
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups of peach slices (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup of sugar
3 tbs. peach schnapps
3/4 cup of vodka
This is one UNcomplicated recipe, so there are no worries about messing it up. Simply put all of the ingredients into the blender and turn it on, let it swirl around for a few seconds and voila! You have a delicious drink ready to go. You can serve your drink immediately, store it in the on-the-go cups, or leave it in the blender and save the pitcher in your fridge for later.
I haven’t had too much time with it, but I can already tell you that the Ninja Ultima is my new favorite kitchen accessory. I can’t wait to try out new drink and meal recipes! In addition to hosting parties, I think this’ll be a great help in my quest of a healthier lifestyle in 2014. Smoothies, anyone?!
The Ninja Ultima retails for about $270 and can be found at most major retailers (e.g. Amazon, Macy’s, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond). What’s your favorite drink/meal recipe to whip up via blender?
