PopSugar Must Have: February 2014 Review

This month’s PopSugar Must Have box really snuck up on me! I really tried to hold out looking at spoilers, but as usual, a lot of people received it before I did and I couldn’t resist peeking at what was coming my way. There were a lot of mixed reviews on this box from what I saw before it was in my hands, but

K. Hall Designs Peony Travel Candle
This travel-size candle from K. Hall Designs ($11) has a very sweet, flowery scent (peony). Although I love candles, I’m not crazy about this scent. Might need to gift this to someone – or swap it in the subscription box swap (my new obsession).
Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash
I was pretty surprised to find a bottle of Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash ($3) in this month’s box. Not that it’s not handy – it’s just on a much different level than the majority of the other items in the box. Regardless, I’ll get use out of this.
Modelco Lip Pops Duo Lip Gloss and Lipstick
The Modelco Lip Gloss/Lipstick duo ($23) is pretty cool with the combination of the gloss and stick in one. I’m not sure yet if this is something I’ll get use out of or not, as I’ve been more of a lip balm girl lately. I do love the color though -we’ll see!
Nourish Organic Argan Face Serum
I’ve been branching out from the single brand I usually use for moisturizing and makeup so I was really excited to find a new brand – Nourish Organic in my box! The Argan Face Serum ($24) is apricot and rosenip scented (yum). I’ve only used it once so far but I already love it.
NCLA Los Angeles
This dark red shade (Rodeo Drive Royalty) of NCLA polish ($16) is the perfect shade for Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, I’m not one to paint my own nails because it turns out to be kind of disastrous. This will be added to the gift/trade pile.
Gorjana Brooks Jewelry Roll
I’m always scrambling to find something to throw my jewelry in when traveling, despite the fact that I wear mostly the same pieces on a daily basis. Surprisingly, a lot of PopSugar Must Have subscribers were unhappy with this piece. I, on the other hand, love it! The berry-colored Gorjana Brooks Jewelry Roll ($45) opens up to feature 3 separate zippered areas for your jewelry. For sizing perspective, each zippered area can hold an iPhone 5S and Alex and Ani bangles. Can’t wait to use this for upcoming trips! The jewelry roll also came with a $25 coupon code to the Gorjana Griffin shop.
Sugarwish Mini Red Cinnamon Hearts
The package of Sugarwish Mini Red Cinnamon Hearts ($7.50) was adorable and another great item to include for the Valentine’s Day season. That said, I’m not a fan of cinnamon-flavored candies so I won’t be sampling them. Upon looking at the Sugarwish website, I did see a few flavors I would’ve loved. Too bad you can’t exchange!
February’s box retailed out to about $130 (plus the $25 GG gift card). Although the box wasn’t a complete hit for me, it also wasn’t a complete miss because the jewelry roll alone was worth more than I paid for the box.
PopSugar Must Have subscriptions cost $39.95/mo. and feature the top product picks from PopSugar editors in a variety of categories (beauty, home, fitness, etc). For $10 off your first box, use code “BOX10” at checkout.
