Essential Apps: April 2014

With Tax Day just a couple days away, it’s only appropriate to share some helpful apps to help you prepare to file, actually file, and keep an eye on your refund status this month. AT&T compiled a list of 8 apps to help organize and file you’re taxes on the go, and I’ve narrowed it down to my top 3 favorites, included below. Whether you’re procrastinating with getting your taxes done or waiting for the refund, you’ll definitely want to check these out!

Donation Assistant
One of the harder things to keep track of when tax season rolls around, are the charitable donations you’ve made over the past year. Donation Assistant (free) helps you manage a list of charitable donations/receipts, keeping everything you’ll need for your tax filing in one handy place. I’ve found this one to be especially helpful this year since my donations were pretty spread apart!

H&R Block Tax Prep:
This H&R Block Tax Prep (free) walks you through your tax prep and filing, providing you with free services including advice from a tax expert via live chat and guarantees 100% accuracy and a maximum refund. If you’re a newbie with taxes or too familiar with the tax filing process, this app is a must have!

This is my favorite tax app – and for good reason! MyTaxRefund (free) allows you to track the status of your tax return, from filing, to approved, to refund in progress. Fingers crossed the government will be good to us this year!
