BarkBox Review: April 2014

I can’t believe how fast April has flown! Although I had received the shipping notification, I was a little thrown off when I found this month’s BarkBox, although I couldn’t wait to bring it in for Sheba! I receive quite a few packages over the course of each month and she’s gotten so spoiled she starts thinking they’re all for her!

Riley’s Peanut Butter & Molasses Organic Treats
Anything that involves peanut butter is an automatic winner in Sheba’s book, and Riley’s Peanut Butter & Molasses Organic Treats ($8) also happened to be her favorite item in this month’s box. The ones that came in our box were larger (since it’s in the medium-sized dog box), but there are also smaller sizes available for small dogs.

Mr. Barksmith’s Smoothies for Dogs
I love the idea that smoothies exist for dogs! Although it wouldn’t be my preference of flavor, Sheba seems to really dig these treats from Mr. Barksmith, including the Carrot Cake Smoothie ($2)! I also love that when I set this little bowl on the ground, she picks it up and brings it to her favorite little lookout spot/corner to eat it!

Off Leash Fire Grilled Chicken Treats
I’d never heard of the Off-Leash brand prior to receiving April’s BarkBox. But it’s definitely one I’m happy was included, because Sheba absolutely loves the Fire Grilled Chicken Treats ($9). They’re also very healthy and have a low calorie count – good for training (when giving treats often) and when you’re looking to cut back on your pup’s food intake.

Barkworthies
This month, Sheba received her biggest Junior Bully Chew ($6) from Barkworthies. These are perfect for extended periods of time away from home during the day, and Sheba looooves these chews!

Loopie’s Orange Alien Specter Tough Toy
The first thing my eyes were drawn to when Sheba opened the box up, was this bright orange bat/monster-looking toy ($15). The arms and legs are pretty floppy (as you might think from looking at the picture) and there’s a squeaker in the creature’s head. Although Sheba loves squeaky toys, this one doesn’t have any fuzz/fur so she didn’t even look twice at it.

April’s BarkBox retailed out to approximately $40 and I paid $16 (locked in an awesome rate during a special promo a few months back). Subscriptions start at $18 and are offered in 3 levels based on dog size. If you’re interested in subscribing for your dog(s), be sure to use my referral link for $5 off your box!
