FabFitFun: Summer 2014 Review

I’ve been eyeing up the FabFitFun subscription box for quite some time and was SO excited when the company offered to send me a box to review and share with you!

FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box that sends a variety of products in fashion, fitness and beauty, worth over $100, for $50 which is an amazing deal!

Diamonds Away Mini Clutch
All kinds of purses are my guilty pleasure so it was nice to find the Thursday Friday Diamonds Away Mini Clutch ($35) in my box! I’d never heard of the brand prior to this but their collection of bags on bags (see below) is pretty funny. A $30 coupon code was also included with this for additional Thursday Friday shopping! Lots of cute bags for summer toting!

Skintimate Shaving Cream
I was very happy to find a bottle of Skintimate Shaving Cream ($4) in my summer box! It’s actually a product I use regularly so it’s always nice to have some extra on hand that saves a trip to the store!

Sonia Dakar Flash Facial
I remember seeing the Sonia Dakar Flash Facial ($95) in one of the gossip mags (People or US) at one point and was curious about it, but $95 is a lot to spend on a product you’re unsure about, so I was thrilled to find it in FabFitFun’s summer box! If you’re into exfoliation/facial treatments, this product alone is well worth your investment in the box!

A girl can never have enough lip balm – especially with SPF! There are several flavors KISSTIXX offers, but I received the strawberry and chocolate lip balm combo ($10), which is one of my favorite combos in general!

Balanced Guru No Frizz Oil
Living in Florida, I can’t get enough of the no-frizz products. The Balanced Guru No Frizz Oil ($25) is another great one to add to the shelf to keep my hair in line. I also love the Buddha/Zen reference to their name and logo with the lotus. This is also within airline requirements for liquids, so if you’re planning any trips you can carry this on with you!

Slim Fast Have Your Cake Vanilla Bar
It’s been years since I’ve eaten any kind of Slim Fast bar, but I was very interested in sampling the Have Your Cake Vanilla Bar ($1.20) because who doesn’t enjoy cake for breakfast!? It was a little strong for my tastebuds and VERY sweet. Definitely not something I could eat regularly, but there’s always a chocolate version to try!

Pur-lisse SPF 30 Sunscreen
I’ve been seeing the Pur-lisse brand a lot in subscription boxes lately! Their SPF 30 Sunscreen ($55) is a perfect addition to the summer box, helping to keep us free of the lobster color a.k.a. sunburn! In addition to being a sunscreen, it also acts as a light moisturizer and has anti-aging ingredients to keep your skin healthy and glowing.

Always Xtra Protection Liners
I love the Always brand and was pleased and also surprised to find some of their Xtra Protection Liners ($3) included! Feminine hygiene products are often left out of subscription boxes (even though they are essential), but this was a win to have. Always helpful to have some extra liners handy!

FabFitFun Water Infuser Bottle
I’ve gotten a couple water infuser bottles but the FabFitFun Water Infuser Bottle ($15) is probably my favorite! It’s much easier to manage placing fruit in and is one of my favorite colors – hot/bold pink. I’m not sure if it’s dishwasher safe but if so, this one’s definitely a winner!

Sour Cream & Onion PopChips
I’ve seen PopChips ($1) around a lot but haven’t had a chase to try any until receiving them in this box. These are a little healthier for you than regular chips and come in the standard chip flavors (e.g. sour cream & onion, original, salt & vinegar) and are actually pretty good!

Zoya Nail Polish in Maya
I love the bright fun Maya color nail polish from Zoya ($9). It’s definitely perfect for summer! On the downside, I’m terrible at painting my nails (at least one hand) so I don’t normally have a use for nail polish at home. I think I might bring this color into the salon next time though!

I really enjoyed my first FabFitFun box and definitely think I’ll be back for more when the next box comes out this fall! There’s definitely a nice mixture of items across the beauty, fashion and fitness categories for the season that will come in handy for every day use and trips near or far.

If you’re interested in subscribing to FabFitFun, be sure to use coupon “SMALLTOWN5” for $5 off your box – there are still a limited number of summer boxes available!
