Staying Charged On-the-Go with PowerSkin’s PoP’n 2

I love my iPhone 6, but the battery life isn’t great, considering the many uses my phone has (e.g. apps, phone calls). With my previous iPhone, my mophie case was a daily staple, recharging my phone wherever I was. Unfortunately, no charging cases for the 6 have been available, and low battery was a constant battle. Fortunately for me, the PowerSkin PoP’n 2 literally popped up up not long after getting my phone, and the PowerSkin team kindly sent a unit for me to try out!

There are 3 components to the PoP’n 2 – the base where your phone sits, base to connect your phone to the charger, and a charging cable (to charge the charger). I hope that’s not too confusing! Keep reading to see the Pop’n in action!

The Pop’n arrived pre-charged so I didn’t have to worry about that “charge before first use” action item that typically comes with gadgets. Very refreshing. There are two ends of the charging base. The front one plugs into your phone like you would when charging your phone, and the back one plugs into the actually battery pack (where the phone sits). Once both ends have been connected, you press the button on the back of the pack and voila! The charging begins.

As you can see, the PoP’n 2 is slightly smaller than the iPhone 6, but nonetheless, VERY handy. I’ve been using this just about every day, and always feel relieved to have a backup battery on me. I put the PoP’n 2 to a big test last month when I took a mini-vacation to Savannah, GA. Being on-the-go all  day, there wasn’t much downtime to go back to the hotel to charge or charge when stopping for a quick coffee break. The PoP’n 2 allowed me to plug my phone in and throw it back in my bag while letting it get back up to a quick charge. Very thankful to have this little gadget with me – especially as I’m gearing up for my first trip to Europe!!
If you’re looking for a portable charger to carry with you, PowerSkin offers a number of products (PoP’n and cases) for a variety of devices, including Apple, HTC, Samsung, Motorola, and Sony. Whether it’s for yourself or someone else, this would also make for an extremely practical Christmas present for the smartphone battery-draining person in your life :)
