Fun Findings Friday #114

Legacybox:
Despite the digital age that we live in today, I do remember, quite well, the days of bringing your film in to get developed and watching VHS tapes. While it’s nice to have all of those memories on hand, there’s also a worry of losing the physical copies of your photos and videos (and also not having a VHS player to watch old videos). I just stumbled across Legacybox, our solution to all the #oldschoolproblems. Starting at $75 (but currently offering a 40% off discount with code “FROSTY”), this company transfers your old media (e.g. Super8, film negatives/prints, cassette tapes) and sends them back in digital format. Definitely something we all need to do (at some point)!

2015 Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando:
It’s almost Mardi Gras season at Universal, my second favorite time of year at the park (behind HHN)! Every weekend from February 7 to April 18 this year, Universal Orlando will be touting a New Orleans atmosphere, filled with French Quarter food, music, beads (parades every weekend), and best of all, concerts from a wide variety of artists! There are still a few dates with artists TBD, but there are a couple dates I’m already planning to take a trip to Orlando for! Here’s the full lineup thus far:

  • Feb. 7 – Olivia Newton-John
  • Feb. 14 – Jessie J
  • Feb. 15 – Barenaked Ladies
  • Feb. 21 – Kelly Clarkson
  • Feb. 28 – Heart
  • March 7 – Trace Adkins
  • March 13 – TBA
  • March 14 – Styx
  • March 15 – American Authors
  • March 20 – Becky G
  • March 21 – Yandel
  • March 22 – The B-52s
  • March 28 – TBA

Serial, The Rom Com Parody:
I’m still not over Serial, the podcast that I (along with the rest of the world) became hooked on a few months ago. So anytime I see anything related to the podcast, whether articles or videos, I check them out. After all, something needs to fill the void! If you’re in the same boat, you’ll enjoy this Serial: The Rom Com parody, showing our favorite podcast as a fake movie trailer with a love story between the host and the subject. It’s too funny!
