Top Beauty Picks: April 2015

It’s been EONS since I’ve written a full fledged beauty post, but today, I’m bringing it back with a few of my top beauty (makeup + hair) picks this month! None of these are “new” to the beauty market, but they’re tried and true must-haves!

Too Faced Natural Eye Collection
A daily staple for me is the Too Faced Natural Eye Collection ($36), filled with glimmering neutral colors. I’m pretty conservative when it comes to eye shadow color (minus my blue-only phase in 7th grade), so this is the perfect one for me! I’ve been using it for quite some time now, and it’s still holding up really well. Definitely worth the investment!

Kiehl’s Heat Protective Silk-Straightening Cream
I’ve been a fan of Kiehl’s for years. One of my favorites? Their Heat Protective Silk-Straightening Cream ($17). Formulated for wavy and frizzy hair (should only be applied when damp), this is a must-have, especially if you’re somewhere with humidity. This cream always makes my hair super smooth, and makes a huge difference post-straightening.

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara
Talk about a fancy name for a product! I received a tube of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara ($32) c/o Influenster and was pretty excited to try it out. Although I’ve only been using it for a few weeks, I really like it! In terms of application, it’s not different from any other mascara. But the volume when applied is just right and doesn’t come out or go on clumpy. Plus, the mascara contains B5 pro-vitamin to strengthen and protect lashes!

Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo + Conditioner
Living in Florida, I deal with some SERIOUS humidity. Usually the second I walk outside, my hair blows up into a giant mess. That said, I’ve noticed a pretty big difference in my hair on days I use my Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo ($24) and No Frizz Conditioner ($24). It’s quite a bit more than I’d typically spend on shampoo or conditioner, but I use so little of it (especially the conditioner) that it lasts awhile! Plus, the line is by Jen Aniston, which gives it some extra cred.

What are your top beauty picks this month?

Disclosure: I received the YSL product from Influenster for review/testing purposes. All opinions are my own.

I love Living Proof! I can't bring myself to buy it though. I have only tried it via samples. Have you tried the Urban Decay Naked Palette? It is amazing and still my go-to for eyeshadow. Thanks for sharing! :)

I absolutely love that mascara, I use it everyday! I'm also very curious about the eyeshadow palette – I love those colors, and the fact it's less than the UD Naked palette is always nice!
