It’s been quite a few months since I’ve ordered from Golden Tote, but with the launch of their new site last month, I was eager to give the clothing styling service another try (you can check out my previous GT reviews here).
Unlike Stitch Fix (which I’ve been posting monthly lately), Golden Tote offers two “tote” options – a small ($49) with 2-3 items, and a large ($149), with 5-7 items, and all items you receive are yours to keep. If you receive an item you don’t like, you can trade/sell it in the Golden Tote Trading Group on Facebook, which I’ve done many times!
I actually received my March order a couple weeks ago, due to a later launch day (GT releases new items each month and they typically go on sale the first Monday of the month at noon EST). Here’s what I got (apologies for not modeling them for you this time around – next time, I promise!):
Mint Skinny Jeans
My chosen item was a pair of Mint Skinny Jeans. I don’t have much color in my wardrobe when it comes to pants/jeans, so I thought these would be a great spring addition to my wardrobe. It was noted on the site that the jeans run big and to size down (also read this in the Trading Group), so I did just that. Unfortunately, I should’ve stuck with my original size instead, because they’re a little snug on me. I haven’t decided if I’ll put them up for sale/trade or not yet, but I’m leaning toward kicking it into high gear in the fitness realm, so hopefully they’ll fit a little better!
I felt a bit underwhelmed with this surprise top when I first opened it. It wasn’t anything that particularly jumped out at me, but after trying it on, I think I’ll keep it. I don’t love it, but I also don’t hate it. The linen material is rough since it wrinkles so easily and I’m not one to pull the iron out often, but it is a nice, lightweight shirt for the Florida heat!
My March Tote wasn’t a huge success, but I’m still going to give it another try with April’s tote, since there were a couple items I really liked from the available options. Stay tuned on the results!
Did you purchase a tote this month? Was it a hit or miss?
