Attempting to Practice Self-Control

It’s no secret that Sheba is insanely spoiled. Every single box that comes through the door, she immediately runs over, ready to get her sniff on and scope it out, because she’s confident that the package is for her (even when it’s not). Fortunately, this time it was. A box of treats from!

This month we opted to try some treats from Natural Balance. Sheba’s regular food is actually Natural Balance, so I was curious how their treats would fare with her. Plus, I always enjoy trying to teach her new tricks, and treats are always a good incentive!

First up were the Natural Balance LIT Limited Ingredient Treats – Sweet Potato & Chicken Formula. The exact same flavor of her food, I thought she might try to search for an alternative, since she’s used to this flavor. Nope. She LOVED it! Can you tell? These help maintain skin and coat health and are filled with nutritious ingredients, so I’m happy to give them to her!

Next were Natural Balance’s Dental Chews – Sweet Potato & Chicken Formula with Mango Treats. I knew before even opening the bag that these would be Sheba’s favorite. She loves the bigger chew treats, and this is a win-win since these help with fresh breath, reducing plaque/tartar, digestion, and boosting the immune system.

This is where the practicing self-control came in. I could barely pull one of these out of the bag before Sheba tried to get her paws on on it! I think I told her to “sit” and “stay” at least 20 times before finally giving up. Mostly because I couldn’t stop laughing about how eager she was about it. Hey, you can’t always follow through on self-control. Sometimes you just have to indulge.

And Sheba did. She’s going full on Indominus Rex for it (Jurassic Park reference if you haven’t seen it yet).

Needless to say, these Natural Balance treats are winners in Sheba’s book!

Does your dog have treats he/she goes crazy for?

*Disclosure: I received these products for review purposes. All opinions are my own (and Sheba’s).

My dog needs to practice self control too, but it’s just so cute to see how excited they get over new treats!

Sheba’s such a cutie! That’s the same dog food I feed Starla too! Frankly, any treats Starla will eat. She’s obsessed with bananas.
