The Peanuts Movie

The Peanuts Movie hit theaters this past Friday, and it definitely lives up to the hype! I brought my mom and little sisters along with me to the screening, to help bring a kid perspective to my review as well (especially helpful for any of you planning to take kids to see it).

Just under an hour and a half, The Peanuts Movie is the first Peanuts movie/special to use CGI and be in 3D (the film can be seen in “standard”/2D as well). But despite the advances in technology used for the movie, the classic story of Peanuts by Charles Schulz has remained in tack, keeping all of the beloved characters just as they’ve been for the past 65 years.

In fact, it was held SO true to the Peanuts we know and love, that there were no video games, but outside adventures, landline phones with curly cords, and handwritten homework assignments. Ah, the nostalgia of our own childhood memories mixed in with the tradition of Peanuts.

The storyline follows the triumps and downfalls of Charlie Brown, and introduces us to a new character, “The Little Red-Haired Girl,” the new girl in town, who CB is crushing on big time. In addition, Snoopy faces his nemesis, The Red Baron, and there are quite a few dance party moments!  Also great? Seeing the whole crew, Peppermint Patty “Sir,” Lucy, Linus, Sally, Marcie, Frankin, Pigpen, Schroeder, and more!

If you have kids or friends with kids, you should definitely make plans to see this in theaters! It’s adorable, nostalgic, and is filled with great life lessons whether you’re 2 or 102! Plus, my sisters rated it 6 out of 5 stars, they loved it so much!

To celebrate the long-awaited arrival of The Peanuts Movie, I’ve put together a little Peanuts prize pack to give away x 2, including a Peanuts Greatest Hits CD and some other festive surprise seasonal Peanuts goodies!
