February Goals

Happy Groundhog Day! It’s so hard to believe it’s already February! Didn’t New Years just happen? I know I/we all say it a lot, but really, where is the time going?! Before we get into my February goals, lets take a quick look back and see how I did on January’s:

  1. Read a book (in its entirety). Believe it or not, but I actually read not one, but TWO books this month! Attachments and Why Not Me? – both of which I loved!
  2. Drop off items to donate. Done! I dropped off a bag of toys at the Humane Society AND a few bags of old clothes and kitchenware to Goodwill.
  3. Declutter. So far, so good on this one. It’s a work-in-progress but I cleaned out my desk and nightstand drawers and threw out an embarrassing amount of papers and other junk that’s been collecting dust for far too long!
  4. Take down the Christmas decorations. Sadly, this is done. But I did leave up one little decoration, as I do every year (never on purpose though)!
  5. Conduct a reader survey. Check! This was my first reader survey for STCL so I was a little nervous how the feedback would be, but it was all very positive and informative to see!

Looking ahead at this month, here’s what on my list to achieve.

february goals

  1. Post on Instagram at least once a week. I love scrolling through Instagram, but sometimes I’ll forget to snap “Insta-worthy” photos, or have crazy/busy/stressful weeks where I don’t even think about it. This month, I want to up my Instagram game.
  2. Finish recapping December’s Europe trip on the blog. I returned from my Europe trip in mid-December but with the whirlwind of Christmas and getting back into the swing of things post-holidays, there’s still SO much I have to share with you guys! I’ll be wrapping up Salzburg this week and the rest of the month look out for posts on Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, and Prague. They’ll be coming in full force!
  3. Have one TV-free night per week. I’m so guilty of being sucked into TV and getting nothing productive after getting home from work at night. I want to have one TV-free night a week to catch up on reading, blog things, and my class group project.
  4. Hit 1k followers on Bloglovin. I’ve seen a consistent rising in my social media followers over the past couple months and am hoping to cross the 1k line on Bloglovin. It seems like a bit of a stretch since I still have a little over 100 to go, but you have to start somewhere!
  5. Book my next trip. I’m itching to plan another trip and this month, my goal is to have something booked!

What do you hope to achieve this month?

  • You did awesome on your goals for last month! I bet you’ll do just as well on your goals this month. I’m putting together a giveaway that might help you hit your Bloglovin’ goal…I’ll shoot you an email!

    • Thanks, girl! I’m hoping! I’ll get back to you soon on the email, but count me in :)

  • Good luck with all of your goals, girl!
I am sure you will knock them out of the park.
Make sure to link up with Brittany from Southern Soul and I tomorrow for our monthly goal setting link-up! :)
    xoxo, Jenny

    • Thanks, Jenny! I’ll keep an eye out for the link-up tomorrow!

  • Good luck with these! Giving up TV a few nights a week was one of my January goals and it has been great. I do miss it a bit, but I get so much more done!

    • Thank you! The good news is a lot of my fall shows are still on hiatus, so there’s not as much on now anyway :) It just eats up so much of the night, so I’m hoping for some more productivity!

  • Here’s a tip for TV free–make sure you do it completely, don’t leave it on for “background noise!” I used to turn it on when I would try to work on my blog posts, but in the end I would just kind of either aimlessly surf the internet or stare at the TV…two hours later, nothing would be done!

    • YES! Totally with you on that. A lot of times I keep it on in the background but still find myself getting distracted. My TV-free nights will be more like straight to my desk-time so I don’t even think about putting the TV on :)

  • Good luck on your goals! I totally think you can hit 1k.

    • Thanks, Mikayla! Keeping my fingers crossed, it’d be a huge milestone!

  • Awesome goals! I just got done reading An Abundance of Katherines. I have really gotten back into reading a lot lately. I feel like I couldn’t do that as much when I was in college since I had tons of textbook reading.

    • I’ll have to check that one out! I read SO much in high school but in college and for the past few years since I’ve been out of undergrad, I haven’t been able to get back into it. I’m hoping it sticks now, I do love to read!

  • Good luck in your goals! I find with Instagram that it shouldn’t always been about insta worthy images but what you love and enjoy.
if your interested I am hosting a monthly link up on my blog.

    • Thanks, Angela! Totally agree with you! I guess by insta-worthy I mean any photos at all some weeks, ha!

Decluttering was on my January goal list…..but it’s still there, lol. Loving your goals for February!

    • Decluttering is ALWAYS on the list! Even when you get through it all, it always seems to reappear lol. Hopefully this month you have some success wth it :)

  • Decluttering is on my list for this month, as is one TV free night a week! Good luck!

    • The decluttering never seems to end! Good luck with your goals as well, you can do it!

I love planning trips! I can’t wait to start planning our next one!

    • Same! Any ideas where your next trip will be?

      • Ashley Chase

We aren’t sure yet! We went to Mexico in December and then again last week, so we are still in vacation mode. We want to take some trips to some cities on our US bucket list!

  • good job on your goals girl! the tv free night is brilliant. we aren’t big tv watchers, but i would love to see if we could do a computer free night… like once a month to start off haha.

    • Oh that’s a tough one! Although my class night usually ends up being computer free since I don’t get home until later. Not sure if that counts or not though :) Once a month seems like a good place to start, haha!

  • Great job on reaching your goals in January, and it sounds like you have some good ones picked out for February as well! I’m being really selfish and hope that you finish recapping your Europe trip this month, so I can add more things to our itinerary! I also love your idea of having a no TV night! It really is so easy to get sucked in and stop being productive when the TV is on!

    • Thanks, Ashley! I’ll definitely finish those recaps! Writing them takes awhile, but I love reliving the memories :) I hope you’ll be able to pick out some things for your upcoming trip from them!

  • Fantastic goals! I wish you the best as you work towards them this month!

  • I hear you. Instagram and social media in general can slip through your fingers. Feels like there’s not enough time to get it all done. Where are you thinking of booking your next trip too? I hope to achieve a couple blogger goals also.

    • It’s so true! What goals are you looking at for this month? I think the next big trip will be in the U.S. I’m thinking Midwest/West Coast, but just waiting for some good deals to pop up :) Do you have any trips on your radar?

  • Ooh, 1,000 Bloglovin followers is a big milestone! I hope you get there, but I think you will. :)

    • Thanks, Lisa! It might be a bit of a stretch for this month, but hopefully the number will go up at least a little bit!

  • Girl! You almost have 1,000 followers on Bloglovin’? What is your secret with that? That’s awesome! And Hooray for reading Why Not Me! I loved it, too!

    • Well, just over 850 at the moment, so 1000 might be a bit of a stretch this month lol. No idea, but I’m happy to have people follow along :) I really want to work on my Facebook growth as well but that’s been a tough one for me to break into!
