Overnight at Bratislava’s Tulip House Boutique Hotel

Moving along in my Europe travel recaps, our next stop was Bratislava, Slovakia! Our stay in this city was the shortest of all, but it was perfect for us! Like the rest of our stops on my latest trip to Europe, I’ll be sharing a more in-depth look at what we did with our time, but today, it’s all about our five-star hotel, the Tulip House Boutique Hotel!

The Tulip House Boutique Hotel is centrally located to Bratislava’s “Old Town,” where all of the city’s big attractions are. Everything was pretty much accessible within a 5-10 walk of the hotel, with the exception of the train station.

The Room

I’m pretty confident in saying that this is the biggest hotel room I’ve EVER had. In fact, it was more of a suite than a room. I felt like I was experiencing life living as a Bratislavian (might’ve just made that term up) in an apartment – minus the kitchen, it was THAT big.

When we walked in, we were in a huge living room area that I couldn’t even fit into one photo frame! On the table, a  fresh plate of grapes, welcoming us to our room.

When we rounded the corner, we found ourselves in a second living room area with more couches, but no TV. More of a sitting area. We could’ve easily had several more people bunk with us in this room, so if you’re looking for a spacious place to stay in Bratislava, this is it!

Here, there was also a desk area and empty bookshelf, in case you wanted to decorate and make things a little more homey.

Finally, the bathroom. SO much room in here as well. With two women traveling, extra bathroom was especially appreciated when getting ready in the morning!

Service + Amenities

To be honest, we had a bit of a service blip upon our arrival at Bratislava’s train station. The hotel had arranged transportation for us from the train station, but our driver was a no-show. After a couple phone calls (the crazy expensive international ones), a driver finally showed up for us. Because of the problems, the hotel told us the transport would be covered by them due to the bad experience we had (without us even having to say anything)!

Breakfast was also included in our stay. We loved the quaint room it was served in, and enjoyed the selection of fresh cheese, meats, fruits and breads, as usual. We also opted to have a side dish of porridge, which was SO good!

With it being Christmas season, the hotel also kept some delicious festive wine that my mom and I couldn’t get enough of! It wasn’t like the standard wine found throughout Europe that has that strong cinnamon taste, it was juuuuuust right, as Goldilocks would say!

I received a discounted rate for this stay. All opinions are my own.

That hotel looks amazing!! I have never gone to Europe or even had a strong desire to want to go but seeing your pictures is making me question that! :)

Having all the extra space was SO nice! I always wanted to travel to London and after doing so a couple years ago, I got the Europe travel bug big time. There’s so much to see/do over there, I love it! You should definitely plan a trip!

It was great, Juliet! I hope you’re able to get some traveling done too! Which places are at the top of your travel bucket list?

That’s a BIG room, and I love the minimalist approach to the design. I could see myself there a few days, it looks like a great spot to stay and very aesthetically pleasing!

It was HUGE! I was starting to wonder if they had booked other people in there too, haha. If you’re traveling with a group, there’s plenty of room for everyone to have a comfortable sleeping spot!

Wow that room is huge! Especially by European standards! That is awesome that they comped your ride to the hotel – definitely good customer service :)

    • February 26, 2016 / 11:17 PM

It was huge! And I agree! I was so frustrated by the whole thing especially since we were under a tight timeline to get checked in and make our walking tour! I didn’t even realize they were comping it until the end when we checked out and they reviewed the bill with us!

It was lovely, Brittany! I hope you’re able to take a fun trip! What’s at the top of your travel bucket list?

Your room was huge, especially by European standards! That sucks that your driver didn’t show up, but it sounds like the hotel tried to make up for it!

    • February 26, 2016 / 11:19 PM

I know, right! We couldn’t believe how huge the room was! I’m glad the hotel pulled through in the end, things like that definitely make me a repeat customer and happy to spread the word to others!

It was very cool, Shannon! A lot of the hotel’s design was pretty simple, so this was a neat touch of personality!

It was pretty huge! We didn’t know what to do with all the space! We could’ve fit a solid 3 standard hotel rooms in the one we had!
