Aria Hotel Prague

During our time in Prague, we stayed at the Aria Hotel Prague, an award-winning hotel, which also happens to be the sister property of the Aria Hotel Budapest, where we stayed during our time in Budapest. We stayed at the five-star, musically-themed property for two nights. Here’s what we thought.

The Aria Hotel Prague is in the perfect location! Less than a 5-minute walk from the famous Charles Bridge and the Lennon Wall, there are several shops, restaurants, and hotels in this area. On the same side of the river, Prague Castle. And across the bridge? Old Town Square and even more restaurants and shops (and lots of tourist things)! Plus, it’s only a quick 25-minute drive to/from the airport and 10-minute drive to/from the main train station.

The Room

As soon as we were handed the keys to our room, we were pretty excited. The key to our room was on a music note fob, which was a really neat touch of personality. Plus, the envelope for the keys featured a composer to go along with the theme!

The first thing we noticed in our room was the adorable living room area, complete with a welcome cheese plate and a bottle of wine. Yes, please! Our studio room looked down into the breakfast/bar area, which was neat to look down into and see all of the people passing through.

Our room was the perfect size for us too, especially when it came time for us to repack our entire suitcases and make sure we’d be able to fit everything we bought along the way home with us! That was quite a sight to see!

The music library on our TV was pretty extensive too! It was different from the options available at the hotel in Budapest, but we switched up what we were playing quite a bit here. But ultimately, we ended up jamming to Fleetwood Mac the most, since it was one of our favorite groups that had the entire album available to listen to.

Our room also came equipped with an iPad to use during our stay, which was a refreshing break from our phone screens we’d been using throughout most of our trip to catch up on internet things!

The bathroom had Molton Brown London products (our favorite) and the best environmental sign I’ve seen in a hotel bathroom, or really, anywhere!

One of my favorite parts of our room was the quirky double-sided door hanger. Traditionally it’s just a “do not disturb” sign, but we really got a kick out of these themed ones!

Service + Amenities

The free breakfast every morning was delicious! In what we learned is pretty standard European form, there was a huge buffet to select fresh breads, meets, cheeses, jams, etc. from! And the best part was the made-to-order eggs. I mean, just look at this perfect presentation! I almost didn’t want to eat it to mess it up!

The breakfast dining and bar area was quite lovely! Each evening there was also a piano player so this was a fabulous place to hang out and unwind at the end of the day before retiring to the room. We did so our last night in town, and enjoyed a delicious white chocolate raspberry dessert. And again, the presentation of the food here? So cool! I really need to step my game up cooking at home!

The Aria Hotel Prague also has a hefty musical library you can borrow CDs from during your stay. The concierge is also located in the library, and is full of so many great recommendations for things to do while visiting Prague! If we had more time, we definitely would’ve added some of the recommended excursions that came up during our chat!

One of the really neat things the hotel touts, is its stunning rooftop view. During warmer days, you can even eat a meal on the roof, looking out over the beautiful city of Prague. Unfortunately for us, visiting in winter, this wasn’t the case. BUT, we did ask the front desk if we could go up to the roof to see the view (and of course snap some photos), and that’s something you can definitely do! SO AMAZING. You can even catch a glimpse of Prague Castle!

The hotel also handled the booking of our train station pick-up and airport drop-off, both which went off without a hitch! I appreciated the constant personal communication they had with me regarding our stay, rather than just an automated email upon our initial booking months before. The service here was great! We wish we didn’t have to leave!

I need to stay at one of these hotels when we visit in September! Not only do they look so luxurious (with huge rooms by European standards), but the breakfast looks great as well! You also can’t beat those views!

        • March 3, 2016 / 9:59 PM

I can’t speak to that time of year (I’m sure it’s still fabulous no matter what time you go), but there is something incredibly magical about visiting at Christmastime! I certainly wouldn’t dissuade you from going in December :)

What an adorable place! I love hotels that have a theme (I’m dorky like that), so the fact that this one has a music theme is really appealing. I’d love to go to Prague–and now I know where to stay! :D

    • March 3, 2016 / 9:57 PM

Themed hotels are my favorite too! The personality definitely makes stays more enjoyable and memorable! I hope you can get to Prague soon, you’ll love it!

Aren’t they?! I wish every hotel would add their own quirky little door hangers and have a fun theme. It makes stays so much more memorable!
