My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

OPA! My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is out in theaters today, featuring all of our favorite characters from the original! Did you also know that Nia Vardalos (who stars as Toula) wrote this sequel?!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 focuses again, on Toula, who’s struggling with losing a bit of spark in her marriage and her rebellious teenage daughter, who’s not very interested in her Greek heritage or traditions. In addition to that, Toula’s also dealing with her aging parents and trying to help fix every other problem around her for friends and family. But as you can tell from the movie title, there’s another BIG greek wedding coming!

I caught a screening earlier this week and can truly say, I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard (or much) in a movie in quite some time! And I wasn’t alone. The entire theater was cracking up as well, and I think no one more than an elderly lady seated next to me.

I’m always curious to see what other people think so I browsed a few film critic reviews on this as well. Do yourself a favor and don’t read them. Yes there are stereotypes and corny jokes, but that’s what makes a comedy. I’m not Greek and found several relatable instances in the film, as I’m sure you all will too! Movies (especially ones like this) are to provide entertainment, and that’s exactly what this one does!

It’s been a rough week and I think we could all use some laughs. So if you have some time on your hands, I definitely recommend heading to the theater to catch this one!
