Stock Up + “Avoid the Oops”

This post is sponsored by SheSpeaks/Walmart.

I’m usually very on top of the things on my to-do list, including picking up necessities when I run to the store. But more often than not, I find myself forgetting that one thing on my list that I swore I wouldn’t (like picking up all of the ingredients for tacos except for the meat), or thinking I’m fully stocked up on something and learning the hard way when I reach for it and find nothing there. Yep, I’m talking about you, toilet paper.

Other “oops” moments I’ve had at home? Waiting until the last minute to do a speed-clean at home before guests arrive and realizing I’m out of paper towels to wipe surfaces down or Swiffer pads to clean the floor. And don’t even get me started on squeezing the bottle of body wash in the shower and nothing coming out. Yikes! I know you guys can relate!

Stock-up-avoid-the-oops

That’s why I’m loving being able to stock up on P&G kitchen, laundry, cleaning, and bathroom items from Walmart at www.avoidtheoops.com! Ain’t nobody got time for “oops” moments like these that can be easily avoided! In fact, I stocked up on several of my favorite household items for UNDER $60 – and they arrived within a few days! I really don’t know how we lived without the convenience of online shopping. Saving time AND money?! You just can’t beat Walmart’s everyday low prices!

Now that I’m all stocked up, I don’t have to worry about reaching for an item that’s either not there or only has one drop left. Success! There are so many “oops” moments in life, but this certainly doesn’t have to be one of them!

Avoid-the-Oops

Have you had an “oops” moment running out of an important household item? What’re your favorite items to stock up on?

That’s awesome! I buy it in bulk a lot of time and have it super stocked up. I get so paranoid that I am going to run out! haha

    • Same! It’s the worst when you think you have some and you’re completely out!

  • I really need to get better at stocking up stuff!!!

    • There are definitely a few items that you want to make sure you never run out of. Online ordering makes life so much easier!

  • Our family needs to do better at this, but it’s hard to stock up on stuff when you use public transportation! We usually keep pretty good stock on TP though, at least, ha!

    • Ah, I can imagine that would be difficult. You should try ordering online. Nothing beats not having to lug things on public transportation and just having everything waiting at your door!

I just had to do this last night for vanilla ice cream; we were totally out! Definitely a BIG oops.

    • Haha, YES! Ice cream is certainly a top priority when it comes to keeping stocked up :)

  • Samantha

Oh good, Pampers are on there! The other day after we got home from the store I had to send Hubs back for diapers! You CANNOT run out of those! :)

    • Oh no! Running out of diapers sounds like an extremely bad situation, haha. I think those need to be on auto-delivery!

  • I’m working on having at least one of each thing stocked up so that I’m never stuck without it! This is a cool service :)

    • That’s a great idea! Then you’ll never have to worry about any “oops” moments :)

  • Brianna Picard

We live an hour outside of town and can’t afford an oops but believe me, they do happen! Thanks so much for the tips!

    • Aww, bummer. Oops are the worst! If you can, try ordering ahead online!

I love that walmart does delivery now! This would have really helped me for when I was on bed rest!

    • Same! It’s so nice to just have everything waiting at your door!

  • I had no idea they delivered. That’s pretty awesome! I do typically keep cleaning supplies stocked up — they’re much cheaper in bulk, anyway!

    • It is! I love stocking up on things (it’s absolutely a huge saver) – my only problem is running out of space!

  • How cool is the delivery service! I had no clue :)

    xoxo, Jenny

    • It’s great! How did we ever survive before the days of online shopping?!

  • I love having household supplies on hand in bulk! Nothing sucks more than having a huge mess and not having any paper towels!

xx katie // a touch of teal

    • Agreed! I’ve definitely run into that problem on more than one occasion!

  • Heather Gullett Denniston

Really smart. The problem for us is storage! But I definitely could be doing better with this!

    • I’m with you! I can’t wait to move into a bigger place!

  • carla birnberg

Once upon a time I was deep into edits on my first book. The child was getting ready for school – – second grade – – and I ran out of both paper towel and toilet paper. Simultaneously :-) huge huge oops

    • Oh no! This is definitely where stocking up would come in handy :)

  • We seriously always run out of toilet paper and then I have to go get it and haul it down the street of New York City which is embarrassing to me for some reason haha

    Emmy Jake NYC

    • Haha, I totally get it! I’m not sure why we all find TP so embarrassing – everyone needs it!

  • Tia @ financiallyfitandfab

This is not a household item but I never have stockings when I need them. I’m always running like a mad woman looking for a pair without a run. I need to stock up!

    • Hey, it’s still an essential! I always seem to have that problem with the slip-ons for my flats too!

  • tina johnson

Every year when school starts I look for ideas that will make our lives a lot easier. I call it my New School Years Resolution. Thank you for this great inspiration!

    • That sounds like a great idea! I think this would definitely help!

  • Hey I found your blog through TO & Fro sponsor side bar (I’m there too!) I’m so jealous of your mass quantities of essential home items. Can’t wait to live in a city with a Costco/Walmart again!

    • Thanks for stopping by, Lillian :) You can always try stocking up online until there’s a physical store nearby!

  • Stocking up is a great idea. Now I just need more storage place :)

    • I hear ya! Until I get a bigger place, it’s only a few things in bulk at a time!

  • JeeYoung

We love to stock up on our cleaning and dry products!

    • It’s definitely a good thing to do! I try to keep stocked up too!

  • Running out of toilet paper would be a big oops-haha. Great tips on stocking up! :)

  • When we weren’t so rural I mixed stocking up with couponning.

    • Couponing is something I definitely want to get better about! Extreme Couponing (the show) is my guilty pleasure!

  • I always buy cleaning supplies and paper goods in bulk. I never want to run out .. 3 year olds can be very messy!

  • Zaira Moran

Such a great concept! If I had more space I would use this to be a doomsday prepper!

    • Same! For now, I just stock up on a select number of things – mainly TP and paper towels!

Yes! Such great tips. We order from Walmart on a monthly basis and I go to Costco once a month to make sure we have the essentials on hand.

    • That’s so great! I think I need to get my bulk orders on auto-ship!

  • That is so cool! I didn’t realize you could buy household items from Walmart online. I had an “oops” moment the other day when I realized I had planned on making omelettes and forgot to get eggs. Thank goodness my husband saved the day by going on a last minute trip to the store!

    • Yep – it’s great! I’ve forgotten important ingredients when shopping like that too! Like when I was making tacos and got everything but the meat, haha. Total fail!

  • The hospital I was staying at didn’t provide toilet paper, and I was scared I would have an “oops” moment so I made at least 3 friends bring me some…I think I overdid it in the end, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. If I lived in the States, I would totally get the essentials you mentioned delivered in bulk!

    • OMG are you serious?! That’s crazy! Thank goodness you had some friends to bring you some! Are there any places you can buy in bulk over there?
