July 2016 Goals

We are officially past the halfway mark in the year. WHOA. June was a pretty awesome month with my promotion and birthday, AND I was able to successfully accomplish all of the goals I set for myself, so it’s going to be a tough one to top. But here’s to keeping the momentum up!

Recap of June Goals

  1. Reach 700 fans on Facebook. Success! I actually ended up overachieving this goal and hit 748! Yay!
  2. Book flights for the big end-of-year Europe trip. YES! Flights are booked and it’s officially happening. Come back on Monday to find out the details of where we’ll be heading in a few months!
  3. Create 5 new “Pinterest worthy” graphics for old blog posts. Done! Adding an extra graphic really helped spruce these posts up. Check them out! Staying Connected While Traveling Abroad // Afternoon Tea at the Ritz London // Views from the London Eye // Tasty Thursday: Crockpot BBQ Chicken // Tasty Thursday: No-Bake Energy Bites
  4. Figure out insurance stuff + sign up for new plan. Since I turned 26 a couple weeks ago, I’m officially off my parent’s insurance plan and on my own. Helloooooo new step in adulting.
  5. Finish getting through the Pinfinite Growth e-course. Check! I finished the actual course but still have some bonus material to sift through. There’s a lot of great stuff in there!

July Goals

  1. Read one book. I’ve fallen off the reading wagon again, so it’s time to get back in gear. I think my book of choice is going to be Maybe in Another Life. Have you read it?
  2. Solidify this year’s dad-daughter trip. Since Europe is booked for my mom and I (more on that next week), it’s time to start planning the annual trip my dad and I take. It’s looking like this year we’ll be going to Denver!
  3. Hit 1,700 followers on Instagram. Follow me here!
  4. Pay it Forward x3. We need some more goodness in the world so it’s time to throw some random acts of kindness out!
  5. Have one blog post pre-written at all times. Sometimes I wait until the last minute to write my next post. This month I want to have at least one written ahead of time (at all times) to avoid any last minute rushes.

Were you successful with your June goals? What’s on your list to accomplish in July?

Share:
  • Girl! Congrats on hitting so many of your goals! You were so productive this last month! I’m super impressed AND motivated to sit down and work on my goals right now!

    • Thanks, Chels! I hope you’re rocking your July goals!

  • Wow – a lot accomplished – congrats!

  • Congrats on achieving your goals and good luck with the ones for July! Only a few more to go before you get your Instagram goal!

    • Thank you! Excited that I hit my Insta goal. Now time to set some bigger stretch numbers!

  • Amanda

These are amazing goals and happy to see you accomplished some pretty big ones for June (hello Europe!). How was the Pinfinite Growth course? Currently trying to step my Pinterest game up :)

    • Thanks, Amanda! I really liked the course. Quite a bit of helpful info and I’ve seen some decent growth from it!

  • Ashley Stephenson

Yep, I have a month left on my dads plan…and I have no idea what to do hahah. Any advice?

    • Ugh, it’s the worst! I’m still working through it all but look at the different plan options you have and choose what would work best for you (e.g. how often you go to the doctor, prescriptions, etc.). Open enrollment’s just a few months away so you can always switch it up if you’re not liking what you initially pick!

  • Hopefully you’ll be as good as accomplishing your July goals as you were in June! I’ve always wanted to read a Taylor Jenkins Reid book but I still haven’t! Maybe in Another Life seems the most appealing to me of all of them. Can’t wait to hear more about your upcoming Eurotrip!

    • Thanks! So far the book’s pretty interesting – not quite what I thought it would be though. So excited to start planning more for this next trip! I hope you plan another trip down to FL soon!

  • I’m building my Instagram too—just followed you. In any case…EUROPE? So jealous.

    • Thanks, Georgiana! And yes! So excited for this upcoming Europe trip! Have you been?

  • I need to go back and edit some of my older posts so it’s more Pinterest ready, so I love that you accomplished that goal this month. And I love your goal for July to have one post pre written at all times! I’m so terrible at planning ahead!

    • Thank you! Planning ahead is a tough one for all of us I think. Sometimes I get ahead on it but it’s so easy to fall behind again!

  • This sounds like a great list of goals.. I have been trying to read more too! I have also been making new pins for old posts and it makes a difference!

    • Thanks, Lauren! It really does make a difference. I think doing a few a month is nice and easy!

  • Annie Marie

Great goals! I love the pre-written blog post one and paying it forward :) good luck!

    • Thank you! Paying it forward is something I want to remind myself to do as often as possible. Pre-writing is always a tough one!

  • Leslie Nichole

I take my dad on a trip once a year too. He likes the beach so that’s where we usually end up. I wanted to read one book this month too. Your goals seem pretty doable, good luck with them!

    • That’s awesome! Taking trips with your parents as you get older are the best. What book are you working on reading this month?

  • Terryn Winfield

Following you :) Congrats on hitting your goals! I really need to get ahead on my posts too, I tend to just write them in the morning.

    • Thanks, Terryn! One of these days I’m going to start trying to get up a little earlier to be more productive in the mornings. I’m just such a night owl!

  • Aw love these goals… and congrats on hitting all of the ones from last month!! Having 1 blog post pre-written at all times is one of my top goals (and one which I never seem to accomplish…grrr)
    XO Amanda | http://www.glitterandspice.com

    • Thanks, Amanda! It’s definitely one I struggle with too. I feel like every time I get on track with it I end up derailing, haha. Good luck!

  • Good on you for achieving all you set our to last month! I failed miserably with my June goals, hoping to do better in July. All the best for this month’s goals – I’ve read Maybe in Another Life, definitely worth a read in my humble opinion. :)

    Christie’s Take on Life. xx

    • Thanks, Christie! I hope your goals are going well this month :) Glad to hear the book is worth a read – I just started a few days ago!

  • You did awesome in July! I can’t wait to hear all the details about your Europe trip. I love your idea of having at least one blog post in your drafts at all times…I should do that. It would definitely take the pressure off those “nights before” where I haven’t written anything!

    • Thanks, Christine! I’m so excited to start planning more of it! I feel like weekends are always best for getting ahead on posts, but there are definitely some weeks that are better than others with it!

  • Look at you, kicking butt! Congrats on achieving all of your goals last month! I love the concept of always having one blog post written at any given time. I really need to get into that habit!

    • Thank you! Writing ahead is always a struggle. Some weeks are better than others with it :)

  • Denay DeGuzman

Congratulations on completing your June goals. And woo-hoo for a wonderful set of July goals. I love that you’re heading to Europe with your mom and then traveling to Denver with your dad. It sounds like an excellent summer is in full gear! :-)

  • Great goals for July! You did so well in June and congrats again on your promotion.

  • ARod@MakinMyAptaHome

Great goals love how you break it down by month. Might help me to accomplish more if i try this and I’m now following your insta.

    • Than you! It definitely helps to accomplish more by writing goals and putting them out there. Otherwise they get pushed off so much more!

  • Paying it forward is such a great goal! Good luck with all the others.

    Alix | http://www.apintsizedlife.com

    • Thanks, Alix! It’s one I definitely want to try to do more often!

  • Rachel Golden

I love your goals! I’m currently trying to finish a book, but I want to read at least two this month. It’s such a struggle when you’re always so busy!

    • Thanks, Rachel! Which books are you reading this month? I know the feeling with wanting to accomplish all the things but being so busy, ugh!

  • Maybe in Another Life was absolutely amazing and one of my favorite books last year!! Happy reading!

  • nicole

Those are some great goals for July :) Hopefully you reach them. Good luck!

  • Ack! Being on your own insurance isn’t fun but you can do it! Cannot wait to see how these goals go!

xx katie // a touch of teal

    • Thanks, Katie! Already missing being on the old insurance, haha. At least the law pushing the age back to 26 went into effect right before I would’ve had to go on my own post-undergrad!

  • Way to go on your June goals!! That’s awesome! I already follow you on the ‘gram, so I can contribute to that, but I’m sure you’ll do great! :)

  • Wow, you killed it in June!! Congrats!! You have some great goals this month – hopefully it’s just as successful!

    • Thank you, Amanda! Fingers crossed I’ll be able to finish the month out strongly!

  • I like that you included random acts of kindness. It’s so needed right now!

    • Thank you! I totally agree. We need more goodness out in the world.

  • Great goals, I should start pre-writing posts a little more too! And those trips with your parents sound so fun!

    Laura | Laura Aime Vous

    • Thanks, Laura! They always are, I love traveling with them. It’s a great way to spend some quality time!

  • LALAINE MANALO

You’ve had a fruitful June! Congrats! I wish I was more on top of my to-do list

    • I really did, thank you! If you just start writing a few things out you want to accomplish it might help more than you think!

  • Congrats on your promotion! That’s exciting! Also you did amazing at accomplishing your goals last month! I am slowly but surely trying to update my pinterest images. It’s a slow process! I can’t wait to hear about your trip (when the time comes)! I can’t wait to go back to Europe. I love your goal for 3 random acts of kindness. I could not agree with you more on the world needing some kindness. Good luck with your goals this month!

    • Thanks, Mistle! Agree that updating old posts is time-consuming but if you try to do a few each month, it isn’t so overwhelming!

  • Wow you KILLED IT in June!! Congrats on your promotion! Hopefully July is just as successful for you!!
