Fun Findings Friday #176

Greetings from Denver! My dad and I are currently on our annual dad-daughter trip and having a blast exploring the city and as one does on vacation, doing lots of eating and drinking! I can’t wait to share more about our trip soon – and am so excited to be crossing off another state on my list!

I wanted to pop in quickly to share this week’s fun findings with you – and then we’re off for more fun Colorado adventures! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Wide Angle Lens for Smartphones

I invested in a DSLR camera last year, but to be honest, it’s not something I like to lug around with me, because it does take up a decent amount of space in my bag when traveling. Last weekend at Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival I was chatting with a woman who had some pretty stellar photos from the Hanson concert (which was totally amazing) from an add-on smartphone lens that zoomed in and were clear! This HD camera lens for smartphones easily attaches to your phone and allows you to take even better photos on the go. This baby’s at the top of my wish list – and it’s under $30 (at least while it’s on sale now)- which is great!

Looking for better quality photos but not wanting to spend the extra money? Check out this affordable option!

New Emojis in iOS 10.2

I’m a major user of emojis. Like everyone, I have my favorites that I use most frequently, but I can’t wait for the next batch of emojis set to arrive in the iOS 10.2 update, rumored to be pushed out sometime this month! Some of the new ones we’ll be seeing? A face palm (YAAS!), a fox, fingers crossed, salad, and bacon! You can check out the full list of what’s coming here.

Check out the new emojis coming out with iOS 10.2!

David S. Pumpkins in All the Halloween Movies

Although Halloween has passed this year, I can’t help but share this find that has me cracking up every time I watch. Did you catch Tom Hanks’ David S. Pumpkins skit on SNL a couple weeks ago? If not, I recommend you watch before the video below, to fully get it. But adding Hanks’ David S. Pumpkin character into some of the biggest horror flicks is the greatest thing ever!

  • Love the wide angle lens! But I have to say, I’m keeping posted on your blog so I can hear all about Denver! Happy Weekend!

    • Thank you! I’ll be starting to post about the trip later this week or early next – stay tuned :)

  • TOTALLY adding that lens to my wish list as well!

    • It seems like a brilliant way to avoid lugging the DSLR around!

  • Heather Gullett Denniston

I bought one for my iPhone and hate it. But it is not this one. This one looks really great! I need to take mine in to see if maybe I am using it wrong.

    • Oh no! Hopefully it’s an easy fix to make it better – the lady I chatted with loved hers and got some great photos!

  • Ooh I can’t wit for the new emojis!

    xoxo, Jenny

  • Enjoy!! I’ll look forward to hearing your recap. Denver fares have been super cheap from here lately!

    • Thank you! I can’t wait to share – it was a blast!

  • I am so so so excited they finally have a facepalm emoji!! And an avocado :)

    • Same! I don’t know why we haven’t had some of these sooner!

  • Shani Ogden

That zoom lens looks amazing! I’d love to have better pictures using my phone when I’m vacationing or don’t want to lug around my DSLR.

    • Exactly! I can’t wait to get one myself for the same reasons!

  • How fun is that lens for the phones?! Totally added to my cart on Amazon ;)

    • I know! It seems like such a great option to get better photos on the go!

  • I need that face palm emoji! It describes me so perfectly like all the time!
