The ART is Denver’s newest luxury hotel, and I couldn’t wait to book a stay when I was researching hotels for my dad-daughter trip to the city. I’m a big fan of boutique hotels and loved that this wasn’t just a hotel, but also acts in part, as an art museum, filled with unique pieces for all kinds of personalities.
The ART, a hotel, is located in Denver’s downtown museum district, within walking distance of just about all of the major sights in the city. If you’re coming in from the airport, the ride is about a half hour (potentially longer depending what time of day you’re coming in), since the airport is pretty isolated from the downtown Denver area.
Our room featured bright, fun, colors as accents to the modern furniture and designs throughout. Above each of the beds, there were also some really cool reading/night lights that I would LOVE to install at home! We also appreciated that there was an outlet just above the nightstand AND USB ports on the alarm clock, which allowed us to charge up devices without having to hunt for an outlet or shift furniture to get to one.
Another awesome touch by the ART? The in-room drinks and snacks. In addition to a coffee machine, the room also had 2 bottled waters, 6 sodas, and a couple snack options (mixed nuts and dried fruits), which were ALL complimentary! Normally we train ourselves to avoid the minibar situation in hotels since the prices are always crazy, so this was the best!
The bathroom was also pretty spectacular. The double sink setup was great for setting toiletries out for our two-night stay, and again, I just really loved the modern design! There was also a separate vanity area with a lighted mirror and seat – what a dream!
The shower had both an overhead and removable showerhead, which allows you to switch your water pressure up, depending on your preference. Plus, for toiletry items, the hotel uses London’s Gilcrest & Soames, which gets a double thumbs up from me. The whole setup had the ambiance of a spa!
Service + Amenities
Service at the hotel was great. the ART’s staff does a great job of making you feel at home. In the FIRE lounge, you can pick up some complimentary coffee and newspapers in the lounge. Guests and visitors can also opt to sit down for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks throughout the day, which makes it a popular business or social meeting spot for locals as well.
One of our favorite parts, the FIRE terrace, is adjacent to the lounge’s bar area. Not only do you have a cool birds-eye view, but you also can enjoy the fresh air of the city. I think the fall was an especially great time to visit because with the temperature drops at night, the fire pits and heaters were going. I loved the coziness of it!
Bonus section! If you couldn’t already tell from the hotel’s name, the ART is FILLED with a ton of unique pieces from artists around the world from the lobby to each of the hotel floors. I snapped a few photos of my favorite pieces from the entry/lower level and the lobby, which is located on the 4th floor.
Stay tuned for more on my trip to Denver next week!
