A Stay at Stockholm’s Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel
Radisson Blu is one of the biggest hotel chains in Europe and I’ve been really interested in staying in one for quite some time. In planning for a visit to Stockholm, I was excited to finally make it happen, with our stay at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel!
The Radisson Blu Waterfront is located right next to the central train station, which was perfect for us, as we arrived via train from Copenhagen! The hotel is also adjacent to the Waterfront Congress Center, so if you’re visiting on business, it’s in the perfect location as well! The popular Gamla Stan (Old Town) area of the city isn’t far away either – a quick 15-20 minute walk, with plenty of shops to duck into if you’re in the mood to shop or need to warm up in the winter!
I really love the Scandinavian concept of minimalism, and our room embodied it perfectly! The design and decor were simple, but exactly what we needed for our stay. Not to mention, the beds were super comfy!
The bathroom kept the minimalist theme and had plenty of counter space for both my mom and I to get ready at the same time in the bathroom (super important when you’re sharing a bathroom)! The toiletry brand was thisworks (UK-based and all natural ingredients), which was new to us, but we really liked!
Staying true to the hotel’s name, our room overlooked the water and Gamla Stan. Admittedly, we didn’t get to take this view in much since we were on the go and there were only a few hours of daylight during our winter stay, but nonetheless, it was always fun to look out and see the hustle and bustle of the city below us!
We also loved the welcome note with a bottle of water and fruit platter waiting for us upon our arrival. When you’ve been traveling all day, it’s even more refreshing! Little touches like this are the best!
Service + Amenities
The service at the hotel was fantastic! At check-in, we were provided with a number of brochures, maps, and tips on the top things to do while visiting Stockholm. While we had several things planned already, this was incredibly helpful, as we ended up doing some additional things from these that weren’t on our radar pre-trip. A lot of hotels have brochures out for you to choose, but the Radisson Blu Waterfront handpicked these for us from behind the desk and explained each one. Definitely the best proactive service I’ve received at a hotel check-in!
Breakfast was included in our stay and took place in the hotel’s restaurant, RBG Bar & Grill, and was absolutely delicious! There was a wide variety of pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits, and much more to choose from. Still dreaming of how amazing this breakfast was! Seriously everything you could’ve asked for and more!
If you’re interested in working out during your stay (which you might feel you need to do after indulging in this yummy breakfast), you can also take advantage of the hotel’s on-site gym.
Overall, we were very happy with our selection of the Radisson Blu Waterfront for our home-away-from-home while visiting Stockholm. If you find yourself planning a trip to Stockholm, this is the place to stay!
