If you’re looking for a last minute dessert dish to whip up for today’s massive feast, here’s a fun and easy treat to make – Thanksgiving Turkey cookies! After finding this recipe from Pillsbury a couple years ago, it’s been one of my favorite desserts to bring for holiday parties!
What You’ll Need (Ingredients)
24 Sugar cookies (standard number of cookies in a batch – see our old post to make them from scratch)
1 bag of Candy corn (4-6 per cookie)
1 container of frosting
1 tube of orange decorating gel
1 tube of black decorating gel
Yellow circle sprinkles (medium size)
Note: This decorating recipe picks up once you’ve already made (and cooled) your sugar cookies.
To start, frost the top part of the cookie (used as “glue”). Then, place the candy corns – white tip at the bottom on the top of the cookie. These will act as the feathers of the turkey.
Next, take your medium-sized yellow sprinkles and place a dot of frosting on the back. This will ensure they stick to the cookie. Once they’re on, take the black decorating gel and put a black dot in the middle of the yellow circle, finishing the turkey’s eyes.
For the home stretch, you’ll need the orange decorating gel to draw on the beak and the turkey’s feet (pictured below). Then you’re ready to serve this one-of-a-kind delicious Thanksgiving dessert that everyone will enjoy!
