Prince William and Princess Catherine are almost parents! With the impending arrival of the future Prince or Princess (and one day King or Queen) of Cambridge any day now, there are many questions from obsessed fans, like myself, who are wondering what the sequences of events may be for the big day. Well, I am here to break it all down for you:
The baby will born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London. This is the same hospital where Princess Diana gave birth to both William and Harry. Dr.’s Marcus Setchell and Alan Farthing will be the physician’s on Princess Kate’s case. These are also the Queen’s doctors.
This will be a mix of old school and new school. There will be a national announcement when Duchess Kate is in the hospital, but only after being admitted and settled into her wing. The main purpose for this is to avoid any unwanted attention for Kate as she is trying to make her way to the hospital amid painful contractions.
The next announcement will be the long-awaited birth. After the respective family members have been informed, the nation will be.
Sticking with tradition of the royals, cameras will roll while a royal official signs the birth information on a Buckingham Palace letterhead. Then, he will drive to the palace and place the letter on an easel outside the palace walls. (This will be the same easel that Prince William’s birth announcement was placed upon). This is where open media and desperate fans can get a glimpse of the information. After that, the palace will release the information via social media, most likely on Twitter.
The baby’s sex, weight and time of birth will be released immediately. Although the name will be released when the parents decide. It has been known to (on occasion) take upwards of a week for the name to be released.
William and Kate have decided to keep their modernization as the thrones and not find out the sex of the baby, instead opting for a surprise.
So, now that we know exactly what will happen when the future “Heir to the Throne” is born, we will have to just sit and await for the big arrival. In the meantime, many people have decided to go in with bets. Do you think it will be a boy or girl? What about the name? Weight? Time? How about when the baby will be born? Let us know your guesses!
My bet is: July 14 at 8:09am – Girl – Charlotte Elizabeth Diana – 7 lbs. 6oz.
