2015 Vionic Walkabout

Staying active is very important to me. So much so, that my daily step goal is 10,000 (which I track with my Jawbone). Fortunately for me, I have a built-in exercise plan as a dog mom, walking my pup at least twice a day. But living in Florida, my standard shoe is an extremely unsupportive pair of flip-flops. And when I’m not wearing those, it’s heels and other shoes that aren’t doing my feet any good.

Vionic kindly sent me a pair of their Venture Walker shoes to boost to get my exercise on, and even though I’ve only had them for a couple days, I can already feel a HUGE difference in support for my feet. And though I’m typically not one to love tennis shoes, I love these. They’re so comfortable!

With February being Heart Month, it’s a reminder for you to do things to keep your heart healthy, which is as simple as dedicating some time to walking each day. If you’re looking for a place to start, consider participating in the 2015 Vionic Walkabout. It’s a 30-day challenge to dedicate 30 minutes (or more) each day to walking. Hopefully some healthy habits can be formed with participating!

The Walkabout started February 1, but you can start your personal challenge anytime during the month of February (mine started last week) and stay motivated from fellow challenge-accepters via social media by following #VionicWalkabout. Plus, if you post with the hashtag on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you’ll be eligible to win a variety of prizes including a new pair of shoes, cookbooks, Visa gift cards, and the ULTIMATE prize, an all-expenses paid trip to Napa! That prize alone is enough to motivate me to get moving!

If you haven’t signed up for this year’s Walkabout yet, you can do so here. Happy walking!

  • I am also guilty of wearing flip flops most of the time. :0/

  • I used to wear flip flops all the time, but injuries have me wearing mostly running shoes now. These shoes sound like they would be great for me. I had never heard of them before. Thanks!

  • My parent's are super into walking right now and keep sending me updates of their steps for the week, I love it!
