BarkBox: October 2015 Review

It’s the end of the month, which means a new BarkBox for Sheba! Last month was pretty crazy so I didn’t have a chance to post a review of her September box (which was a pretty big win), but we’re back in action this month!

Cozy Krinkle Elephant ($9)

Sheba loves her toys with squeakers, but this elephant didn’t have fluff so I wasn’t sure how it’d fare with her. It’s not the first one she’ll dig for in her toy basket, but this was definitely her favorite item in the box!

Salmon Little Chewzzies ($9)

Made with salmon, these treats are a great, low-cal, healthy option for dogs (weird describing non-human food that way). Sheba likes these, but overall prefers chicken-flavored items over fish. What can I say, she’s spoiled!

Pumpkin Biscuits ($5)

What kind of October box would it be without pumpkin-flavored treats?! This container is the cutest, and Sheba gives these two paws up!

Fetch and Glow Ball ($8)

I’m pretty sure this is the fifth Fetch and Glow Ball we’ve received combined from BarkBox and other subscription services Sheba’s tried out (at least 3 of them have come from BB). She’s not too crazy about these and has a million anyway, so this one will go into the donate pile.

Mint FlavorIt ($11)

The FlavorIt was a totally new type of product from BarkBox this time around. Infused with chlorophyll and mint, this treat promotes healthy gums and fresh breath, which if we’re being honest, is something everyone needs (pups included)!

This is the last BarkBox before Sheba’s subscription runs out. We’ve been BarkBox customers for quite awhile now, but I’m on the fence about renewing or trying out a different dog subscription service. What do you think we should do?

Aww, I love all of this! I can’t believe I still haven’t ordered a Bark Box! Leia would definitely be obsessed with that elephant :) Everytime she gets a new stuffed animal, she just carries it around with here haha! And I love how the pumpkin trend has even spread to dog treats!

You should definitely give it a try! Sheba loves getting a box of goodies in the mail, but now she thinks all of the boxes that come into the house are for her! haha

Like you, as I subscribed to BarkBox for a longer period, they started to repeat the sorts of toys and stuff they sent us. There’s only so many doggy water bottles one needs, you know? Hahaha. We stopped after about six months and didn’t renew. That said, I probably do spend $20 a month on dog treats alone, so it’s not like it’s much of an extra expense!

Haha I hear you on that! We’ve gotten some pretty good things but it’s not always a hit with Sheba, so I’ve been on the fence about renewing. Our dogs are so spoiled!

What fun! I’ve never done a BarkBox (or something similar!) for our pup, and I think she’d definitely enjoy this, though I’d feel bad if we kept getting things she didn’t like. And she’s pretty particular, too. As far as what y’all should do… I don’t know. :/ I feel like you could go either way and be OK, especially if you pick up tons of treats for your pup outside of this every month.

Too funny that Sheba likes chicken more than fish. I love how they’ve all got their own tastes and things they like/dislike. My Lu will steal spinach off my plate only to discover once she’s got it on the ground that she hates spinach. ;)

You should try it! We’ve been introduced to some great brands from it! There are several things over the past couple years we’ve gotten that Sheba’s not crazy about, but I usually end up donating them to the Humane Society so it’s not a total loss (always a good feeling to donate things). SO funny about your pup stealing food and not liking it! Sheba gives me puppy eyes when she wants something and I’ll offer it to her and then she’s not interested lol.

awww this is so cute. i am pretty sure if i did something like this for my cats, they would be more interested in the box haha.

I believe it! I think they do have subscription boxes for cats. The actual box would just be a bonus item lol.

Rosie got a super cute Vampire Squeaky toy in her October barkbox and the Pumpkin treats, too! We just canceled out Barkbox subscription for the time being simply because she has TOO many toys! They keep sending us quality toys that she can’t destroy and we just need to take a break and let her put some holes in them first!

That sounds so cute! Sheba’s toy basket has grown to 2 toy baskets haha. We might need a little hiatus too. She just loves getting mail!

My dog would love all of these for sure – especially those salmon treats! We haven’t gotten a Barkbox for a few months but I’ve been thinking about renewing it too. Once she destroys all her toys we will have to. :)
