Fun Findings Friday #174

It’s hard to believe another week has gone by. I’m not sure why, but September and October (so far) have been CRAZY! It seems like a lot of people are in the same extra-busy boat, so I’m glad I’m not alone. While certain things will be slowing down after next week for me, other things will be picking up! Funny how that always seems to go, isn’t it?

I hope my fellow Floridians (and neighbors in GA and the Carolinas) are staying safe from the hurricane! It’s been a little rainy and windy on the west coast, but thankfully, we’re just getting bits of the outer bands of the storm – nothing too serious. Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet pup, Sheba! If you missed it, I shared a post on reasons dogs make the best friends earlier this week.

Let’s get to this week’s entertainment-filled fun findings.

In the Dark Podcast

Kati Rose recently posted about a new podcast, In the Dark, based on the case of the 11-year old Minnesota boy who was kidnapped in 1989. If you’re into true crime shows (or enjoyed Serial), this is definitely a podcast to add to your list. With the recent developments in the case (i.e. finding out what really happened, according to the guy who confessed), this podcast goes back over the details of what happened and what went wrong with the investigation.

Jackie Movie Teaser

Have you seen the new teaser for the movie Jackie? I  can’t wait until its release in December! Our culture has such a fascination with the Kennedys, and based on this short clip, it seems like Natalie Portman is going to totally kill this role!

Stranger Things Reimagined as an 8-Bit Video Game

I hope the Stranger Things fad doesn’t die out, because I’m loving it! This video of the show reimagined as an 8-bit video game is SO perfect, especially considering the show takes place in the 80s! I’d love it if someone actually made this concept into a real thing. Be sure to check out more videos from 8-Bit Video. They have a ton of other really cool ones, including Mean GirlsElf, Titanic and The Walking Dead.

I love all things true crime so I’m definitely going to have to listen to that podcast. Also, Natalie Portman is going to be an amazing Jackie!

I discovered “In the Dark” last week and have quickly made my way through the episodes. (This is where I admit my true crime fascination.) Do you listen to any other podcasts in the genre?

    • October 16, 2016 / 9:59 AM

I’ve been moving through them pretty quickly too – it’s so interesting! I haven’t found any others yet but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to listen to as many. Do you have any other favorites?
