Stitch Fix: November 2016 Review

Fall/winter clothes are my absolute favorite. While we don’t get to wear them too often in Florida, I’m fortunate to have some travel escapes planned to cooler places to enjoy the weather of the seasons.

For my November Stitch Fix box, I requested some pieces for fall/winter – specifically some items that can be easily packed in a carry-on without taking up a ton of space for my upcoming trip to northern Europe. This will probably be my last one for the year since this time of year starts to get pretty expensive + travels! Let’s see what my stylist sent.

Check out my November 2016 Stitch Fix box!

Staccato Madelene Raglan Roll Sleeve Knit Top ($48)

Raglan tops are my favorite and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s a stretchy, soft, material and is definitely something I can see myself wearing often. With mid-length sleeves, it’s also a top that could be worn most of the year!

Pixley Abriella Waffle Knit Cardigan ($48)

Cardigans have always been my jam. I was excited to see a purple colored one since that’s not a color I currently own a cardi in, but I’m not totally crazy about the waffle texture. Plus, from the side it seems to look much better and longer, while in the front it looks shorter and I feel like a little more awkward-looking (compare the side with my hand in pocket and without).

RD Style La Roda Pullover Sweater ($68)

This pullover sweater was my big surprise-like in the box. When I first pulled it out I thought, “Great.. this is going to be just like that frumpy sweater dress from last month.” But I was wrong. I don’t feel frumpy in it and it’s actually really comfortable (unlike a lot of sweaters that have that itchy feel)!

Octavia Bolton Plaid Scarf ($34)

I’m probably one of the only people that doesn’t own a plaid blanket scarf. I’ll spare you my terrible scarf tying skills below (seriously, how do people perfect the art of the scarf tie?!), but I’m thinking this could potentially be a great add to my closet, especially for these upcoming travels.

Andrew Marc Savana Quilted Puffer Coat ($118)

This coat had serious out-of-the-box potential. It looked warm, I liked the teal color, and it was long (most of my winter coats don’t come down as far. But when I tried it on, there was one fatal flaw. The pocket area. While the fleece lining is super warm when you put your hands in, it adds an extra pooch to the stomach area, which is definitely not something I need more of! Verdict: Returning

Keep or Return?

I have a couple days left to decide what to keep and what to send back from my November Stitch Fix. What pieces do you like/dislike? I’d love to hear your feedback!

I love the blanket scarf! I don’t own one either! I went to a shopping spree last weekend in our town and they showed me how to tie one and it is actually quite easy!

    • I think I need to find a place around me that will show me too. Scarves are pretty rare here in FL :)

  • I love the purple cardigan! My November Stitch Fix just shipped out today and I’m so excited! I love seeing what other people receive in their boxes.

    • Yay! I hope you get some great things in your fix this month.

  • I so wish Stitch Fix was available in Canada! I’d return the coat and the waffle cardigan and keep the rest. Blanket scarves are the best for traveling!

    • I ended up doing just that, but also ended up sending the scarf back. Tough to justify ~$35 if I’m not sure I’ll really wear it often! I hope SF expands to Canada for you soon!

  • Oooh, I love that pullover sweater and blanket scarf. The purple waffle cardigan does look a wee bit short, as you noted. The raglan is my favorite of the bunch, though!

    • The raglan is the best! I ended up keeping that and the pullover sweater. Thanks for helping me decide, Emily!

  • Emily Bendler

Its too bad about the jacket since its cute otherwise. I also love the pullover sweater!

    • I know, I’m bummed about it! I did keep the pullover sweater though. SO excited about it!

  • Marissa Pedersen

All these clothes sound good on a rainy day like today! I love the pullover sweater especially.

    • Same! I’m hoping we get some cooler temps this winter in FL so I can wear it lots :)

  • I love the first and third items. Totally something I would wear. Very cute pieces this month.

    • Those are my favorites too – I kept them both :)

  • Paige Cassandra Flamm

That coat is cute! I love it!

    • I liked it too! I wish the pockets weren’t so awkward otherwise it totally would’ve been a keeper!

I love the raglan tee, those are always a favorite of mine. I also have a soft spot for cardigans, that purple one would definitely have a spot in my closet. And I thought I was the only person who didn’t have a blanket scarf but i’ve got my eyes on some at Target. I really like the one you got, too!

    • Same! I ended up sending the blanket scarf back, but I might have to check Target for a cheaper one if I start having regrets!

  • I love the pullover sweater and scarf! So pretty.

    • Thanks, Olya! I’m so excited about that pullover sweater. A keeper, for sure!

  • I love the raglan top and the pullover. I would also totally keep that scarf since I am obsessed with plaid!

    • That’s exactly what I kept :) So excited for new fall/winter clothes!

  • Love the tee, especially that accent pocket!

Love the pullover sweater, the scarf and the puffer coat – they all just look so cozy and comfortable.

    • They are! I wish the puffer coat wasn’t so awkward looking with the front pockets, otherwise I def would’ve kept it!

  • Hi Rachel :) Great outfit ideas! I love layering looks, so I really liked the sweater over a tee shirt look :) All looked good on you!

    • Thanks, Joan! Layering is great – especially this time of year!

  • I love the pullover sweater and the plaid scarf!

    • I ended up sending the scarf back since I’m not positive I’ll use it enough, but I kept the sweater and am SO excited about it! Hoping for more cool temps these next few months!

  • Yay for Stitch Fix! I am also a member and I love it so far. I have found my two favorite fall outfits from items I received in my last two boxes. Loving all your outfit ideas! <3

    • So glad to hear it! I’ve gotten SO many great things from them over the past couple years. Fall/winter is always the best!

  • The scarf and the pullover sweater are my favorites. You could wear them together❤

    • That’s a great idea! I really love the pullover sweater!

  • I actually had that waffle knit cardigan in a teal color. I kept it from my box but ultimately sold it later on. I really loved the style of it but for me personally it was way too tight in the arms. But I still love how it looks and the purple is really pretty too!

    • Ooh a teal color sounds great! If it wasn’t so short in the front I probably would’ve kept it!

  • You got some great items in your fix! I really love that sweater!!! It looks so warm and comfortable. I also really love that scarf. I will be getting my next fix in January.

    • The sweater is the best! Save these to your Pinterest board if you want your stylist to send you something similar – I hope you get some great things in Jan!

Everything looks so comfortable! I’m in love with the pullover sweater. I used to hate knit sweaters but now I can’t get enough of them.

  • these are all super cute pieces and great staples for Fall/Winter!

    • I agree! This time of year is my fave for clothes!

  • I would totally keep the pullover sweater! It looks super comfy.

  • Wow, this is an uber cool, chic, smart yet comfy collection. Love all of these, especially the waffle knit cardigan and the plaid blanket scarf!

  • These picks are definitely perfect for fall! My favorites (and what I think you should keep) are the striped top, scarf and pullover sweater. They look the best on you, and seem pretty versatile! Also that scarf is super cute, and a perfect neutral that will go well with lots of outfits!

    • Thanks, Rebecca! I ended up keeping the sweater and striped top. I wasn’t totally sold on the scarf (just because I don’t wear them often living in FL), but I did like it!

  • Awww, man! Too bad that coat didn’t work out. At least you have some keepers this time around.

    • I know! If only the pockets weren’t so awkward and bulgy! I am happy with a couple of the other items though. I guess it works out for my wallet in the end :)

  • Lisa Warren

I especially love that scarf – the colors are perfect for fall and it will look great with a ton of things! The grey sweater is a for sure. I think I own a similar one and it’s comfortable and cozy and one I wear often.

    • Thanks, Lisa! I kept the sweater – it’s so cozy! I ended up sending the scarf back since I wasn’t sure that I’d get as much use out of it, but I’m starting to rethink it!

  • Love all of these items! My favorite is definitely the grey sweater – it’s so perfect!

    Rachel / http://www.seashellsandsparkles.com

    • I love it too! It’s going to be a staple for me this winter, for sure!

  • Follow My Gut

LOLOL “just like that frumpy sweater from last month”?!?? That had me rolling. It seriously looks so cute on you. So glad you think so too!! =]

    Danielle | FollowMyGut.com <3

  • Love the scarf and plum cardigan!

    • Thanks, Jackie! If the cardigan had been a tad bit longer I probably would’ve kept it. It seemed so awkwardly short in the front for some reason!

  • So many great pieces! I am especially loving that plum sweater and I think that jacket is actually very chic!

    • Thanks, Shannon! if the pockets weren’t so awkward on the jacket it definitely would’ve been a keeper!

  • Neely

Loving everything you got. I never have good luck with stitch fix :(

    • Aww boo :( Have you tried requesting specific items or using a Pinterest board to show what you like? I think that helps a lot!

  • Chrissa – Physical Kitchness

That pullover sweater is darling!!! I’m always in leggings so I’d be ALL over that thing!

    • I love it! I’m hoping we have some cooler temps over the next few months so I can wear it lots!

  • Pretty picks, my favorites are the scarf and the cardigan. The jacket is perfect and goes with may outfits.

    xx, Kusum | http://www.sveeteskapes.com

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE that cozy sweater! I would probably live in that sweater and leggings for the whole of winter

    • As long as the weather’s cool enough, that’s exactly what I plan to do :) It IS super cozy!

  • ugh bummer about the coat, the pockets are so weird! i suck at tying scarves as well, i just tie them like old school. i don’t care because i am just using them to be warm lol. love the pullover sweater!

    • That sweater’s my favorite too! And ugh, I know I wish the coat worked out but I guess in the end it did because it saved me like $100!

  • That raglan tee and that scarf are both calling my name! Great box this month!

    • I’m wearing the raglan tee today :) I know I’ll be getting a lot of wears out of it!
