It’s been a few months (April) since I’ve done a Stitch Fix review, so I’m excited to have a new one for you today! Believe it or not, this is actually #24! It’s hard to believe that I’ve now received 24 boxes from Stitch Fix. Whoa!
I actually received a “fix” back in June requesting some items for the BlogHer conference and my birthday, but it was pretty terrible. As in wrong style, wrong sizes, just wrong, wrong, wrong. I reached out to Stitch Fix expressing my disappointment, and they offered to waive my styling fee this time around to make up for it. Let’s see how my new stylist did this time around.
August Mist Juleen Metallic Dot Knit Top ($38)
When I first pulled this out of the box, it looked SO small. In fact, I was thinking my 10 year-old sister would be able to wear it instead! But I was pleasantly surprised when I put it on and found that it stretched (not in a bad way) to fit me, and wasn’t clingy (like I thought it’d be). I like that this can be worn as is when the weather’s warm, and would also look great with a cardigan or jacket over! Verdict: Kept
Californian Stitch Carola Wide Leg Pant ($48)
“Ummmm what?!” was my reaction to these pants before, during, and after seeing and trying them on. My stylist wrote that these would give me some Reese Witherspoon vibes which I was excited to hear reading when I read her note, but when I saw what the pants looked like I was very confused. While they do feel comfortable on, they’re SO not my style. They reminded me of a mix between an accordion and window blinds. Just… weird. Verdict: Returned
Renee C Jayani Racerback Top ($38)
I’m not normally a fan of shirts that show too much upper arm (this girl needs to start doing some more arm workouts), but I really liked this racerback top! The colors are bright and fun, and it’s a great addition to my wardrobe for summer! Also, more on these jeans below, but I’m obsessed! Verdict: Kept
Nine Britton Nicola Knit Midi Dress ($50)
The color of this midi dress is GORGEOUS. I was on the fence on this one but ultimately decided I didn’t love it enough to keep it. The front was a bit awkward, especially in the waist area with the band (sometimes you just can win with dresses with those). Verdict: Returned
Liverpool Elizabeth Super Skinny Jean ($78)
I’ve received Liverpool pants from Stitch Fix before, and they’re always my favorite item in the box! This brand seriously knows what’s up when it comes to comfort AND style. This pair of jeans was no exception. While I know I’ve sworn off keeping jeans before, I couldn’t resist this pair because (1) I appreciate a good pair of stretchy jeans (this has a waistband instead of a button) and (2) I feel like they’re very flattering, which can be a hard quality to find in clothing! Plus, most of my jeans (at least the ones I wear all the time) are darker, and these are a little lighter. #Variety, ya know? Verdict: Kept
This fix was MUCH better than the last one and as you can see, I ended up keeping 3 out of the 5 items sent. I’m thinking I’ll sign up for one more next month to (hopefully) get some good fall pieces before my fall travel, since fall is my fave season for clothing!
What are your favorite summertime clothing pieces? Do you have any faves from this fix?
